Cam install

Hello all, please help. At my wits end 😂.
Finishing up my cam install. Oil pan is back up, valvtetrains done,
Now of all things, the timing cover is giving me the hard time.

The bottom bolts that go in the timing cover (2 of them) start threading but shortly after get immediately tight. I really don’t wanna break them off, I’m not sure why they are doing this.
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible the pan is slightly off. Maybe try Loosening the pan bolts a little then get all the bolts started first

Yeah, they should go in easily. Maybe the gasket is cocked. I would loosen the rest like he said, and start over.

Yeah I would loosen all the oil pan bolts just put the cover bolts finger tight, put your hormonic balancer on, spin the engine a time or two to center the cover with balancer, snug up the cover blots, and finally tighten your oil pan bolts. Anyways that's they way I do it.
