Gauge Pack Sensitivity
How sensitive are the 4 gauges near the shifter? The oil pressure and oil temp gauges on my '05 Legacy continually moved based on driving conditions, whereas the gauges on my '00 F-150 were stuck at midlevel regardless of how hard or easy I pushed the engine (basically idiot lights with a needle). A video of how they move (or not) while revving your engine would be much appreciated!

Good question. I just installed these myself and wondered about how sensitive they were to changes in driving conditions.

Good question, I'd also like to know. I'm about to pull the trigger on this mod for a really good price.

I remember in the fourth gens that up until 97 the gauges functioned as a regular gauge and were linear. Owners were freaking out because the temperature gauge would creep up in traffic. GM decided to change to an "idiot light" gauge that only moved when it reached a critical level. I know...this is of no help to you at all...sorry.

I know there's about a 2 second lag on the pressure gauge. I never bothered looking for movement on the temp.

The 4-pack gauges are sensitive enough to work correctly. I haven't had any issues with them, or much of a lag.
I step on the gas, oil pressure rises as expected. Volts are accurate to what they should be, and verified with an OBD scanner. I assume the other 2 work fine too.

I see fluctuations of all; oil pressure from stoplight to highway speed increases from approx 35 to 70; trans temp will increase with driving up to about 200 or so; voltage holds fairly constant at approx 13.5, dropping slightly lower after first 10 minutes (after recharging battery from start); oil temp mimics trans oil, but slightly higher. All fluctuations are within the normal range of expected indications.
