Tire pressure on 275/315 set up?

I’m running I believe the psi listed inside the door or 1-2 less and I’m wearing the centers from a cursory inspection today. What are you guys running with this set up? Thanks.

I've wondered this myself but could not find a definitive answer. To me it makes sense to use less pressure with wider tires because you're increasing surface area and, therefore, the same amount of weight/force is distributed across a greater area, meaning less pressure would be required to resist said weight/force (or something like that).

In your case I guess you have proven that less pressure makes sense, assuming you've maintained consistent air pressure in the tires and a consistent driving style since the beginning of these tires.

I'm thinking as a starting point, if you increase the surface area of the tires by 10% you could decrease the pressure in those tires by ~10% as well, but then again I have no idea what I'm talking about Also, 36 PSI is just a recommended pressure for all scenarios (fuel economy, tire wear, performance, etc.), so even using 36 PSI as a reference isn't necessarily right; guess you just have to check your tire wear every few thousand miles and see.

I checked and this is what all 4 are set at. The tires aren’t terrible, but my mechanic noticed the wear pattern.

I have my fronts at 30 cold. And rears at 28 cold. Thinking about going to 32 cold on the fronts. Since its not a DD, I keep the drag radials on the rear low so I always have good hook up. A race can happen at any time around here lol.

I'm at 28psi cold on the stock Goodyears which I use in the summer.

The Toyos which I use over the colder months are at 32psi.

I found a good balance for my driving style to be 34 cold front and 28 cold rear. I'm even considering 26 or 27 on the rear. Hook up is everything.

33 PSI here. Do you do your own tire rotations? Set your PSI where you think it should be, and then see how the tire is wearing. If it's wearing in the center, let some air out. If the sides are wearing, add some air in.
