So I picked up a bottle of glaze from a local vendor today, they didn't have any hex applicators. They had some microfiber pads from adam's I've never seem before, they looked handy either way. Are these okay to apply glaze with?

Should be fine. You could even use a mf cloth if you wanted. Its just about ease of application and how much product is wasted from soaking into the applicator.
