Shift knob only - what is shifter diameter?

I want to swap out the stock leather knob for a ball shift knob (don't want to spend the $$ on the shifter yet). I want to make sure I'm getting the right knob. Hurst's website has this one to fit 16mm x 1.50. Is this the correct stock shifter size?

Thanks!

The stock shifter is pressed on; you will need to find a pressed fit knob. Unless you remove the stock shifter and have it threaded...

The stock knob is not threaded and I'm pretty sure most hurst knobs are, so just know you will have to do some tooling to the shaft and thread it. The stock knob just pulls off it doesnt screw off.

Thanks for the info and pictures! Do you know what the shifter diameter is? Maybe I'll have to find one that has those small pointed hex screws that bite into the shifter.
