One-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft install

Hi!

I purchased a DSS aluminum driveshaft along with 3.91 gears, new axles and poly bushings for my 2014 Camaro SS. While installing the driveshaft, instructions say to measure the distance between the joint and the shaft. The gap should be between 3 1/4in and 3 3/4 in. I measured mine and its 3 1/8in. Has anyone else had this issue? When installing, the rear went in a little tough with zero forward or backward play.

Thanks!

Update: Installed the ds as it was. spoke with DSS about it they said there could or could not be issues with running it with that little clearance. The pinion seal is now leaking, but it could be the cheap seal that was included with the rebuild kit. Going to take it to a transmission shop and ask their opinion and get the seal replaced with a GM part.

Anyone else have a one-piece DSS driveshaft?

I have one and got from a Forum member in Canada, I just installed it and been driving with for 2-3 years without issue, didn't measure anything just installed it.
I however did ask for a set of instructions and didn't really get much.

The car seemed more responsive off idle not necessarily quicker, and no noise that I can speak of. Hope that helps.
