Must have for me. To be honest I do not quite understand why there is this huge delay since the technology has been in the Vette for some time now.

packaging is causing the delay. the cars development has been remarkably speedy. so missing something like that is ok to me, they arent going to offer it on every car anyways.

So what are we gonna do when we take a pass on the 2010 model so we can get one with a HUD and they decide to hold it back for 2012?

Why is there no explanation for the delay or even any discussion of it? Why did they even mention the thing if they had no intentions of making it anytime soon?

I would order the camaro RIGHT NOW if the HUD was available today.

My plan B is to wait until 2010 when it is available and hope GM is still doing business then. and/or they don't bugger up the car in some other way for the next iteration.

OR at least settle our fears and let us know there will be an upgrade path to add it to the vehicle for those of us who support chevy and buy the car at it's launch.
I'm might be wrong...but if you mean Heads-Up-Display. To me it gets in the way of my driving. Like I would love to have it. But I'm going to have to get use to it.

I agree with you nickspohn!! The HUD is a great feature so that you don't have to look down at your speedometer to see how fast your going and take your eyes of the road!

Honestly, I would like to see HUD at launch, but this is ridiculous to not buy a vehicle because of (1) thing. What if it was never offered? I agree, GM should have kept the wraps on it and brought it out in the next vehicle cycle and make all the first year buyers wish they had it. Based on the whining by some on this and the other forums I'd be surprised if people would pick it anyway. I know this is a HUD thread, but the same goes for NAV........$1200 for either wouldn't surprise me. How many would pick them, honestly?

I've been looking at regular speedos, tachs and my console 4 pack gauges a long time now and I think I'll be ok in the new one without it. Oh, and Best Buy has great NAV units for $300 or less........and a lot easier to update......plus, you can take them to all of your vehicles.......

Maybe GM is working on a HUD/NAV unit so you won't have to look in the center of the dash and take your eyes off the road.

I haven't had HUD in any car I've ever owned and haven't ever wanted/needed/desired it. For this to be a 'make or break' option for some is, IMO, ridiculous.

I agree i gotta have a HUD it's just too awesome to pass up, that is why i will buy one ASAP, and trade it in later when the HUD and hopefully Z28 is available. my dealer told me the depreciation will be 1$ per mile for me, plus I just can't wait for the Z28... gotta have that

It would be a nice gesture if GM would adjust the price of a HUD add-on for people who got their Camaros before the feature was available. That way, people wouldn't have to pay EXTRA to have something installed that wasn't an option at the time.

Wait, so it's a option now? I don't need a HUD but I would like to have one. It's a great feature.
