When I first got my car back in June I dropped it off at K&N for them to work on designing the CAI. It took them a lot of research and a lot of cars (they had mine for a week and I know they had quite a few more v6 owners drop their cars off for testing as well).

I called yesterday to follow up and get a status update and I was told they just released the final part to their production line and they should have something ready for me within 6 to 8 weeks.

So its still a ways out but at least there is a solid time frame now.

Thanks for the update, it's about time K&N.Tcamp any idea on a cost for the
V8 CAI. Trying to get info from K&N is like asking for top secret info. Thanks again for the notice. I have been waiting to decide between AirAid & K&N.

Most of these exhaust systems are sold on the way they look.

Exhaust is a little different than an air box Dave. Looks as far as tips are concerned is very true. Ask almost any enthusiast out there why they buy an exhaust system? Sound will be the answer 9 out of 10 times. Yeah they want power as well, but the way it is going to sound is more important. K&N and Airaid build the same type of kits. Injected plastic tube, similar heat shield, and same cotton gauze element. There are a few differences, but as far as power goes they are not too far off of each other.

We do not use the "Same cotton gauze element". I guess you could claim they are the same except for different materials, better quality, and better filtration, but other than that, yes they are the same filter

your "opinion" of "Same cotton gauze element" is the exact same thing as me making a claim that "All Mufflers are the same, no difference"

The Overall Quality, fit & finish, and Performance of the AIRAID are 2ND To None!

I appreciate your feedback.

"The tests were performed on a SAE J726 air filter test stand located in R2C’s test facility by a qualified R2C Laboratory Technician under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor and Engineering Manager"

Your "Tests" were performed "In house" so I would expect nothing less than your filter to be number 1.

Here is an "independent" Test of our New Non-Oiled Media. The Test was performed by the Southwest Research Institute.
