I saw some interesting books on Amazon. Hopefully someone will chime in on whether any are worth purchasing.

Are you looking for wiring info or mechanical info?

Kyle,

Looking for both, but more on the mechanical side. I was told the Helms Service manual was the way to go, but they are fairly expensive. Do you recommend any particular manual or book?

No TRUER words have been spoken! LOL

Suggestion: ditch the 1200 watt lights and get several LED bulbs. The LED bulbs may cost $25-$50 each but they'll pay for themselves the first month because of the radically lower electric bill compared to what you're going to pay to run 1200 watts. 6 LED bulbs might use 60-70 watts total for all 6 instead of 1200; that'll save you hundreds on your electric bill.

Lookin good... crazy, but good.

Good advice, I will look int them.

Sam, I'm looking to drive to snout out of it when I'm done. Aaron "Owner" of Pfadt Racing is going to personally be driving the cars in some of the tracking events to help me tune the chassis.

I've picked up a bunch of books from B&N on pretty much evry subject but, as Pryo alluded to....... I'm not very good at digging them out to recommend titles.

Ky;e, I finally took the plunge and order the frame you and I had talk about way back when. I was holding off as BMR had talked about bring out their own version. But I talked to Alan "owner at PRI and he wasn't sure when perhaps later next year.

This is a pic from their web-site. It's will shave 30 lbs off the front end. Mine will be here in 3 weeks and will be unique to my build. It will actually be even lighter.

If you're looking for a performance book, I can't really recommend one over another and honestly your best bet is sifting through this forum, ls1tech and the rest of the internet. You will gain more info and for free this way over a book, the key is sifting through the info and verifying with multiple sources/asking questions to find truth. Many of the books will provide good general info on the LS platforms, but will not cover anywhere near what you can get from the internet (you get a chance to learn from other peoples mistakes before you make your own!) And I will repeat, verify info.

If it is mainly mechanical specs and wiring schematics you are looking for then you won't beat a service manual. I use a GM factory service manual. Most torque specs can be found on the web, but wiring is a little more difficult to find.

And you have my number, feel free to get a hold of me if you ever have questions on anything.

Wow, thats a nice looking piece Nathan! Are they making that out of DOM or ChroMo? (or is this a special Ti version just for Nathan? lol)

You got it, it's a special Ti. LOL

It's starting to feel like Christmas. Got this in the mail today. This is what you called an engineered piece! I got to say, I'm extremely impressed! Not only with the unit but the packaging to the instructions. It comes with a instructional video, the bolts come in individual packs and are color coded. Very nice.

JK........ CM, LOL. Because I tucked the radiator, I have no need for the bars to go pass the cross member. So the bar are cut off at each and and milling a custom end caps. So we are losing the extra weight, what ever it amounts to. Should look cool when you look into the Engine bay and don't see a radiator or sub frame bars pass the engine.

I heart my mgw shifter... Although I remember it having straight legs, not curved like in the above pics.

I always thought that I would give it a chance to composite front/rear subframes.

After looking at the tubular picture, I have come with the idea that it will be too damn difficult haha.

Also another good deal on lights is the 54W 2700 lumens at Lowe's or Home Depot. You can get one fixture with 4 54W (4') - 8' long total fixture and it lights the whole garage about $130 with bulbs. I have this and it works great.
