Let’s talk shop on devices for recording good audio/video
I have a 2 camera dash cam in my car (front & rear cam) and an action camera(GoPro) in my car. I find both the dash cam system and the action cam record really great video but the audio recording is really terrible no matter what. It would be nice to get some quality audio recording with the video but have not found anything that does not distort or sound like static etc.
Curious what others have found that records good audio with video that can be used in the windshield of the car.

This unit picks up sound perfectly, 2-ch, 1080p, even at a noisy intersection with the windows down, while talking to someone at the side of the road. Picture quality and cloud access via app makes this unit a must for me. Getting a new as this one only lasted 2 1/2 years.

So far I took an action camera and swapped the microphone out to a larger microphone and there was great improvement but still distorted anytime the car was running due to loud exhausts or if you turn the radio up past 1/3 or volume. I heard that a Road brand microphone may be the best option but I’m not a big tech guy to really know what’s best..

I think all the units I have tried/used all are mono audio recording. Learning as I go along on these newer camera gadgets etc. if I could just get good undistorted audio recording to go with the videos when at the tracks would be so wonderful.
