We hired guys to move the big & heavy stuff (charged by the room & the hour) and we moved the boxes & smaller, less heavy stuff. We were lucky to be able to take our time & move then prep the old house for sale. I just don't think I could have handled moving in a hurry like when you sell your house & buy one at pretty much the same time. It is only 25 minutes between the 2 homes so lots of trips back & forth. We threw away a ton of junk & so many trips to Goodwill, they know us by name. It is really great to have everything nice, new & working and room to stretch our wings.

That's great!! We are so looking forward to January 2021 when I can retire. We just have not decided where to move to yet. My wife would love to move into the scenic mountainy area, she says we should do that and buy a small RV and then just winter in the Keys!! Great idea, we will see......

We do like the Smoky Mountain area of Tennessee.

I love the mountains. We have a timeshare in Gatlinburg. Much of the complex burned in the fires up there but our unit survived. The rest is nearing completion of rebuild & our building was redone too. We contemplated retiring there but Mike still has to work a few years. Sounds like you guys have a good plan.

Well the cars went into storage on Friday, had to take advantage of a dry day ..
We stayed in the mountains in pigeon forge at a log house and enjoyed that .

Looks like I have missed a lot in the few months since I have checked in. Congratulations on the new house Jan. I will be doing the whole moving thing myself in about 5 years when we retire. The plan is sell or give away most of our stuff as we will be trying full time RV living for a few years. We may buy another house someplace but not sure where yet. I will probably spend some time in the RV in the locations we are considering to help us decide.

My Trigeminal Neuralgia has started to f!are up again recently so back to the Neurologist to get another MRI and see what other treatment options there are for me. The Camaro is fine and I enjoyed driving it during the summer but it will be stored as soon as I get the trailer into storage in early November. Happy to see everyone is doing well.

69Supersport, Thx for those links..lots of nice cars. I'll check them out closely tomorrow. It's almost midnight here and past my bedtime!

BTW, my wife and I spent a month on vacation in AZ, NM, CO and Vegas.

We flew in to Phoenix on 8-6-18 and spent 4 days in Peoria!
It was 122 degrees the next day, news said it was the hottest day on record for that date.
We spent time in Tempe, Scottsdale, Tuscon and hiked the Lost Gold Mine trail in the Superstition Mtns.

I love AZ, been there many times. This was our retirement trip...we hot air ballooned in Sedona and Pink Jeep the Broken Arrow Trail.

Spent a few days boozing and partying in Jerome...lovely town. Its atmosphere reminded me of Key West.

We muled the canyon, spent a night in the Phantom Ranch. Basically we did it all!

I rented a 2018 Camry at the new rental car bldg. in Skyharbor, really nice facility.

2 weeks later I partially tore off the rear bumper in Sedona. Fixed it with zip ties and they were none the wiser when I returned it...a good thing since I didn't get their insurance.

We had a marvelous time. AZ is my favorite state.
You sure did get around! In 2 weeks, my daughter will fly out for a visit and will be staying at our favorite place in Sedona. She requested a Pink Jeep Tour and a trip to Jerome. We've done both many times (did all of the Sedona Pink Jeep Tours)

And to think I thought it was hot in So FL. I did enjoy the low humidity...the monsoons and dust storms...not so much.
Up here in the Northwest Valley, many of those dust storms lose intensity by the time they reach up here.

Our car activity season is well underway here.

Just got back from a one week stay in Maryland at our home office. It was cold (for me) there!

This thread has really slowed down. I got a little board last night so I put a few pics of a few of my favotite pics of my pride vehicle. I don't know how to quote for multiple messages. So I'll just say this is for all this thread.

3 pics of the truck that won this. It's a one owner from new. 37,000 still original brakes on it. Was painted 20 years ago to look like this and still does. Only been on a traile twice when I took it to Dale Earnhardt Industries in 2004 for a total truck show.

Very nice truck & trophy.

We tried to finish up moving the garage stuff. Got everything ready to load & it started to rain. Weather folks messed up today's forecast. Loaded some stuff in the back seat of the truck & headed home. We will try again tomorrow. I took Ruby back there to ride out some storms predicted to come in on Tuesday, in the garage. We got the blinds installed in the new house Friday & they look nice. No more hiding in the closet to get dressed. More furniture is to be delivered this week. They are supposed to install new flooring in the old house starting tomorrow too. We discovered today that the hot water heater in the old house is leaking & we will call tomorrow to get it replaced. We disconnected it so no risk of more damage. Just more reinforcement that something is always going to go wrong with an old house. But it sure is nice to come home to our nice new comfortable home.

The last time we moved was 44 years ago. I hope I never have to move. I wish you and your [Best Half] LOL a great retirement in the new home. Great health and stay safe.

We bought a house and 22 acres just outside Whitehall, Montana while we were stationed up there. Wife's got 4 more, then she's done. Gonna play snowbird for a little while.

well winter has started a little early , we usually get some snow but it usually does not stay at this time of year ,not this week .
got a few things that I wanted to do at the cottage , like put the lawn tractor away without driving it in snow . guess that I better get the blower on the big tractor . left it off because I want to use the tractor to pull a tree that has come down and is stuck in another tree .you just never know about the weather anymore ..
the snow has got me thinking about getting this years Christmas tree

everyone enjoy the weekend

We are still busy getting things set up in the new house. There have been 3 showings so far, of the old house. My daughter is heading home for Thanksgiving on Sunday. Does not look like my son will make it home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. He is just getting settled in, in Dallas, going to school on his GI Bill. It will be a different sort of holiday for us. Nothing ever stays the same though. Nothing is permanent but change. Here's to new normal. Have a great Thanksgiving guys & Gals.
