what happened?

I had a magnaflow axle back installed today(it sounds good) also replaced the stock air filter with a k&n when i started the car i had a check engine light for about a 1/2 hour then after shutting the car off a few times and letting it sit the engine light went out,is this normal because the computer had to reset?

This makes sense to me. I had this issue on a few of my cars in the past and I believe it does just have to relearn the new setup.

Most likely the intake did it...changing the air/fuel ratio will trigger a CEL as you saw. I definitely wouldn't beat myself up over it.

car runs fine and engine light is out,so like posted i would think the ecu compensated, but has anyone done this, maybe go back to stock filter even though i think with a exhaust that lets more air should have more air in

The maf sensor probably wasn't connected correctly. I have read in other threads that if you put it back together incorrectly check engine light will light up...
