Thanks. I did the Mark Carlyle 15" conversion kit which included BMR sway bar. 17×5 up front with 28" tall Mickey Thompsons and 15×10 with 275 60 Mickey Thompson et pro tires.

Well it's not but you definitely turned it into one. Might have been easier and cheaper to go with a regular ol SS but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Couldn't afford a good car, so got my first sport bike at 19. Read Twist of the Wrist and TotW II shortly thereafter and decided to go to the track. Did a few dozen track days before getting a car and turning it into a dedicated track car. Drove that at the track for a few years before realizing the track was bankrupting me.

Bikes were always my main transportation, to the tune of 25K miles per year (I put 105K miles on a CBR-929). That's 3 to 4 sets of tires a year. Experimented a lot. Came to appreciate how much tires affect performance and feedback.

Still love tires, still love handling. Don't care much about horsepower. Definitely don't give a shit what a tire looks like. The 1LE is a track car. Not a strip car. Not a cruiser. A track car. If you came to this forum expecting to be greeted by nitwits who brag about their killz, you came to the right place, but unfortunately for you, there's a few like me who still linger. Deal with it. Better yet, learn to actually use your track car. The you don't have to call other people the tire and handling gurus.

And I must admit, I love your defense. If you sound like a moron, and get called out on it, then those people are "know it alls". It's like being illiterate and making fun of the smart kid for knowing how to read.

This wasn't directed at any ONE person!! It's directed at the ones that have owned this car for only a few years...with no other experience and giving advice on parts when they have only used one certain brand!! I love getting advice from someone who has used the parts I'm interested in and can give good in site to help me out. I bought this car to enjoy and add cool little mods that make it my own! I'm sorry if I have offended the guys with the knowledge....but you really shouldn't be offended....you should laugh with me...at the ones I'm talking about since you know it's true!!

You can tell a LOT about a tire by looking at it. Siping, Tread pattern, straight channels, the list goes on. All are important to your application.

But then again, this is the internet, so you probably already knew that.

I would never buy a set of tires without actually SEEING them.

If you are referring to me then you are talking out of your ass because I've probably had more performance tires in the last 15 years than you've had in a lifetime (please don't be Randy Pobst......LOL). But hey, whatever makes you feel better right? Real talk, that's an absurd statement from me because I'm assuming just like you did and you know what they say about people who assume.........Seriously though, why are people so butthurt over a tire debate? The 1le (and zl1 mind you) came with tires to destroy cars that cost 2 -3 times as much on the track. Not really much to debate there. Some people don't like the road manners in daily driving and that's a valid concern. In the end people need to pick tires that suit there needs. Happy motoring, right?

Limerock primarily. I've done the Glen and Loudon a couple of times many years ago, but Limerock was the only place close enough for me to go regularly. I do want to get down to NJMP, but haven't had the opportunity yet. Maybe next summer. Have done Atlanta, but that was on two wheels, would LOVE to do something with a good car there.

That's not a 1LE. That's not anything Chevy offers.

lol...I'll buy that. It started its life originally as a 1LE then transformed into what Chevy should have offered.
