Compound boost - blower + turbos

I'm big fan of crazy horsepower and I must admit that I love the instant power and torque provided by a roots type blower. Unfortunately in the crazy racing events I'm running sometimes I just don't seem to be able to generate enough power. Only 835 on just the blower and about 1200 with the nitrous.....and I was only able to go 193 at the Texas mile with less drama than driving an RV on a windy day, so where do I go from here. I sent a PM to the AGP guys but does anyone have any experience with the potential problems of plumbing the turbos into the exhaust flow and then feeding them into the blower sitting on my car now? could the turbos "choke" the blower at lower rpm? Would I need major intercoolers between the turbos and the blower to keep from burning up the blower? If someone has seen it done what are the limitations and potential problems with the set-up? I appreciate any feedback.

Here's a pretty good build thread. You gotta go big on the turbos, but I'm guessing that's not a problem for you.

Ford guys have been doing compound boost setups on their Cobra/GT500's for over a decade. Pretty impressive results, too.

AGP is getting a ZL1 next week to do exactly this. Should be fun.

We've been involved in the turbo end of many compound set-ups on various brands. They yield impressive results if done right.

Do you know what the goals are for the car, are they using the stock LSA motor and blower?

Could you give me some numbers that correlate with impressive results. Because, even though I thought I would never say it, 800 whp feels kind of weak after you have spent several days spraying bottle after bottle of nitrous through the engine at 1200 whp. What sounds impressive to others may not be as impressive to me.

Kevin can fill it in but I think impressive means 1000-1300rwhp.

According to Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear, this is what will happen when you have a compound boost car
(This was the zenvo from season 21)

buy my car, make 1100rwhp on boost alone, and throw a 300shot over it and fly lol.

Andy's first thought was just pull the blower off and put on the turbos.

Yeah, I'm looking to push the envelope more than this.

I'm thinking buy your car and put 2 really big turbos in front of that whipple so it will run about 35 lbs of boost.....and see how that runs...

Right now I have an ERL superdeck 427 with all forged internals. 6 bolt block/heads with 1/2 studs. This block is supposed to be very robust. It is the 3rd block in 9000 miles.

Something to think about. You can use the nitrous to get them spooled up.
