Yep, gonna add that to my config!

Dave notice the big negative retard too as soon as WOT started. He's helping me out too!

REALLY appreciate your help. I'm learning lots about all of this -- in love with the car all over again ;o)

Is your cam pretty good on vacuum? Close to stock? Since I swapped mine again, I have lower vacuum at idle now. Increasing base airflow, spark, and idle rpm has helped. Low vacuum affects the operation of the boost bypass valve actuator. Jokerz has answered that issue with a modified actuator that opens at 9hg. Vs. 13hg stock. I bought one. Have yet to install it tho. Ensures the valve stays open when it's supposed to be. Lower IAT during idle and cruise. Longer blower life.

Here you go:

Notice the Total KR (I've seen as much as 1.5 KR as it adjusts, but this is the typical view)

~50% throttle, 11.1 TKR:

100% throttle, negative timing, no TKR or KR (interestingly, the ethanol content is 0%):

OUCH!

All is better now (77% ethanol content now):

Ok, you should add every possible spark channel to your list. Something is pulling timing that's not in your channels. All of the timing adder and subtractor tables (as I call them).

Dave's (DSX) looking over my tune and log. I'm not sure Ryan has time right now he is so busy.

No, that last pic is right after TKR went away, and it finally caught up to itself, then the timing came in and picked up (cough, cough, bam as it were)...

Over on the HP forum, they noted Burst Knock or Torque Management can cause this issue, so I'll wait until I hear back -- but, I'll add the additional items to the config!

Will be very interested in seeing what is discovered -- and learn from it!

I saw that! I'm gonna get it too. I do have an electric vacuum pump to get me brake booster vacuum @ startup.

Thanks!

Nah, I'll keep mine -- for the backup blower I have ;o). These things are getting rare!

Ordered it. I have -9. I've heard the butterfly 'flutter' @ idle, so I wouldn't be surprised if its due to the lower vacuum this cam produces -- thus the reason I have the electric vacuum pump for the brakes!

OK, logged again, this time with Traction Control Off (but not in sport mode):

Still see timing pulled and Total KR:

Humm... the plot thickens...

I can't tell much from a screenshot. Channel KR isn't matching chart KR. I don't think TPS is in your channels either. It's blank in your chart. Hit the plus button up top a few times to fix the zoom, so that way you can actually read the line behavior on the chart. So it looks kinda like the second pic. Notice the Blue O2's. This will help you diagnose things easier

Got my answer!

Ryan had time to check out the tune and so did Dave.

Turns out it is the Downshift Torque Management. Based on Dave's recommendation, I took the car out and did a 'manual' downshift from 6-3 @ 55 mph and floored it -- took off like a bat out of hell!

Did a 6-4 manual downshift at 75 mph and then floored it -- GONE!

Ryan suggested I do the same thing -- how about that!

It appears, based on both of my excellent tuner's knowledge, I have 'too' much power for the tcm to handle, so, in order to make 'smooth' down shifts 'automatically', it will reduce timing, etc. to enable that smooth downshift. If I do that 'manually', everything is ready to roll, and I can floor it all day.

So, if I want to go WOT, I do the manual downshift, if I just want to 'pass' normally without WOT, the TCM is ready to rock.

Now, I could disable that management, but then I loose the protection and, probably wreck my transmission -- gonna stick with the tune as it is. I'll probably have to do the 'manual' shifting when I road race -- that should be fun!

Now, I'm not sure if I go into 'sport' mode if that is averted, but, I'll try it out to see!

Great learning experience and outstanding knowledge from both Ryan and Dave -- can't thank them enough! Dave jumped in to help me out when I wasn't sure if Ryan had time -- and then Ryan came though also -- I'm blessed that I have those great minds to help me out...

Thanks guys!

-Don
