BOOST MY LFX
CAIs are a joke
Exhaust systems are only good for sounding powerful im not a big fan of turbos for reliabilitty, especially on my daily driver camaro but alot of 5.3 LS swap guys are finding generic turbos for 750usd. why cant we get a similar centrifugal supercharger for 750usd? add in some high flow injectors , high fow fuel pump, and a tune and we could be cooking ;-) cuz 8000+usd for typical v6 supercharger kits s totally negates ever buying a v6 since most stock v6 SC kits barely beat a stock v8

Supply and demand. I guess if someone wanted more from the heavy Camaro than what the V6 can give they had the very convenient option of a V8.
As far as I know Overkill's supercharger is the only off-the-shelf available one and is good for well over 500 WHP when combined with the custom Mace cams (bigger fuel lobe) and upgraded injectors and HPFP, easily dusting a stock V8. Although certainly not cheap. Even without boost a modded V6 can hang with a stock V8 for all of first gear, and isn't too far behind in second (or still pretty even with the 3.91 gear swap), at which point you're typically going fast enough to go to jail. You could also get rid of about 300 lbs and then you'll have about the same weight to torque ratio and better weight to power ratio

hey, while CAIs and exhaust systems do have limitations, considering a well-matched turbo setup like a garrett GT2860RS with supporting mods, such as deatschWerks high flow injectors, walbro high flow fuel pump, and a professional tune, can really provide significant performance gains... additionally you can ask questions on this website

IT COULD BE BAD GAS , COLD STARTS IN -35 C CDN WINTERS, DRIVING FROM PRAIRIES THRU THE MOUNTAINS, OR LOOSE CONNECTION ON SOME SENSOR AND BOOM YOUVE BLOWN YOUR ENGINE. ON TOP OF THAT I OCCASIONALLY DRIVE ACROSS CANADA FOR WORK AND CANT IMAGINE THE EXTRA BILLING TO GET A BLOWN ENGINE FIXED REMOTELY IN SOME LOCAL GARAGE 3000 KM FROM HOME[lost work, flights there and back, hotel bills, qwik trade in loss,] depending on gas prices and work/economy etc, next time when this car gets miled out, i will seriously consider the V8

Not sure why you think turbos are more likely to blow an engine than centrifugal supercharger. I might agree that issues with the turbo itself might be a little more likely.

ive watched dozens of channels on youtube who are supposed to be experts in these kinds of things.
they have or are tuners themselves and they all have blown up a turbo engine at least once i agree the chances of blowing up a supercharged engine is also quite high. BUT however higher that chance is, the chance of blowing up a turbo engine is just that much higher, its undeniable. it might be longterm wear associated with turbos that also makes them less reliable, like not cooling a turbo engine before shutoff EVEN FORD cant make a turbo more reliable than their own supercharged engines. iver never heard of many blown svt supercharged engines but routinely hear of everyday turbo fords with all kinds of problems

Turbo damage engines tends to be people going for big numbers that turbos will allow. All of Ford's problems with the engines that I'm aware of is from trying to push small displacement engines to higher numbers than you would expect from SC.
Engine stress is determined by how much boost you are trying to push much more than what you are pushing it with. |

Meh, not a fan of force feeding.
You've got an LT so why not do a gear change? 4.10s would be rocket ship like fun. Wish I could but I've got the 2LS so the smaller girly 2.92 axle.
