The Struggle Continues
I figured I would start a new thread since this topic is about my engine and not really based around my supercharger like my old/popular thread. About 3 years ago to this day I was riding home from town and my engine just died. Locked up dry without any indication. I had to get it towed and then installed a what I thought was a "new" engine from the dealership where I bought the car back in 2011. So last week, I went shopping for the beach and saw a movie...no signs of trouble and car was running smoothly. Go to leave the movies and the "engine power reduced" comes on and my car feels like its about to explode. I run a diagnostic test through onstar and supposed it was a cylinder problem. With the 6th cylinder being the fault. Have to get it towed again and got a quote on fixing it being $900. Come to find out that the pistons that were used for my "new" engine were actually off my old one that croaked. So after $10k really to get the car running again, and another $1k to fix this one...I dont know what to do. I feel like old parts shouldnt be used on a purchase like that and the dealership shouldve been made it known that the engine was actually a remanfactured one. Plan now is to hopefully get some help and fix it, then put the thing for sell. I love the car but the past few years have been so dreadful and it sucks because I hate to let it go being my first real car that I have ever owned.
