any nitrous v6s? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have had my 2010 RS since July of 2010. I have done the common bolt on up grades, and added a Zex Nitrous system, almost as soon as I bought the car. I knew that the Bosch platform was never going to be tuned early on, so it was a no brainer. Since then ,I have pulled up next to some pretty mean cars, and either smoked them or stayed right next to them. But I have still not run into any other Camaros running Nitrous. I live in Salt Lake City, and it isn't like its a small town... so I guess I'm baffled by the lack of Nitrous v6s. I know there are only so many upgrades offered for this car.

not a popular mod because if you blow up your engine your out 22k+ thousand dollars and blowing the lifetime warranty also doesn't attract a ton of ppl.

Most ppl who wanna go fast like that just get the SS.

Ya... I heard that one before. I have had a couple of the ss and the new mustangs try me, and not like the results. I have spanked my share of chest thumping v8s. In fact, one of the only street races I've lost came from a Lancer Evo. And it was an ass whup if I've ever seen one. If nitrous is done correctly, it is just as safe as any boost system. Research alittle. This isn't the fake fast and furious mach4 movie system. It is built specifically for this car. SS doesn't mean elite. There are plenty car enthusiasts that know v8 isn't the only muscle car.

There are two guys on here, don't recall the names, but they are on the doorstep of the 11's with nos on their v6's. If you search around you should turn them up really quick.

theere are quite a few of us running nitrous, my set up isnt done yet but all i need is the fuel line hooked up and jets....look in the v6 fi area there is a list of everyone who is doing some kind of FI

Rod1 has the record for fastest quarter with a v6, look him up, very knowledgeable and talkative I think.

Sweet.. that, is good to know. I was quite nervous the first time I armed the system and shot, only because i knew of no one else who runs it. It has really opened my eyes to the reputation it gets. Do you know of anyone making a device to switch tunes for them yet? I want to run a bigger shot, but can't tune for nitrous all the time because of the timing retard.

ya there is tons of info in the v6 FI area, look up vince at trifecta that is the only option for now but you will be able to spray 125shot

I've been talkin with a local Trifecta dude... the tune is possible just wanna be able to switch back to stock tune when not using the nitrous, without having to use a laptop. I know the devices exist. Just need to know the technical name, and if available for this car. I will head over to the v6 forums and poke around. Thanks!

your talking about a hand held programer they dont make them for the v6 just the v8..........the v6 really got the shaft when it comes to tunning

Well...no. It's not a handheld. I'm not exactly sure what the device is, but even the Trifecta guy I've talked to here in Utah mentioned it. If it was just a handheld, I thing slp, makes just a general handheld that would do the trick. In fact, I think you can buy an slp from Trifecta.I don't know, but someone has to right?
