To hex vent or not?
Do hex vent help? Just curious if it's more for looks or it really helps. I have a turbo and thinking it would definitely help. All input appreciated |

Absolutely it will help.. The turbo as you know is little more than a forced air furnace... Anything you can do to cool the temps around them and the motor is going help...
I've got two sets at home.. Going to be installing them as soon as I get home... before the Fest... Several people have done a little testing since installing theirs, and all have said underhood temps are substantially reduced...

Here is a thread showing our temperature test results HEX Vent temperature data. The temperature reductions under the hood are significant; less heat trapped in the engine compartment,

Ask him about the water issue, but for the price, it looks like a great solution and you don't need another hood. Not only the turbo(s) will add a lot more heat under the hood, but more boost also means a hotter engine. Another important benefit which many don't think about it, is that, after you stop and turn the engine off, all the heat from engine, turbo, tranny will build up in engine compartment which will ruin all the rubbers, plastic and wires. Having the vents, no heat build up and the engine returns to normal temp quickly. That's why ZL1, GT500, Viper all add vents now. |

Either they can paint the vents or you can have them send the formula to us and we can paint them. What is the base color of the car? Painting the vents the base color may be a good option too. |
