Do you take your car to the track?

Not 1/8 or 1/4 mile...I'm talking Laguna Seca.

Where are you located? City/state
What's the track name?
What's the cost to get in?
How many laps or how much time do you get?
What are the requirements to get in? Tires, Helmet, License, etc..
Are there usually days for certain cars? 100-300hp bracket for example.
What kind of training did you have when you first started?

Ive had mine at Little Taledega Gran Prix raceway just outside of Oxford AL. Neat little short flat 1.5 mile road circuit originally built for Bikes, but plenty of fun. Car clubs rent it for $1000-1500 a day, usually breaks down to $100 per car.. 3-5 cars on the track at a time. Helmet req. Google em and check it out

Putnam Park road course. Cloverdale, Indiana. i was there april 2nd and 3rd. ill attach a link to the club. tons of photos and info on the club site. its two plus hours of on track driving per day. you can do one day or two. two will cost 425 for one person and an additional 50 bucks for anorther driver. they go to other tracks like VIR (almost 4 miles long and speeds toward 150), and mid ohio. very winding, tight, off camber, with a lot of elevation changes.
if you do go friend, leave your ego at the house. these guys do this all the time and most of them have full blown race setups with no interior and fuel cells. ive taken my car about as far as im going to performance wise. KnN air filter, axel back straights, springs, sways, sub frame connectors, and tunnel brace. its my g-unit first and track car second. the lil car did awesome. i had so many questions and lots of positive comments. i made tons of improvements to my heal/toe downshifting and proper line. i could have pushed it but i was patient and kept it under me both days. we left with our car and ego intact.
a few pics attached.

If you are interested, a group of us from the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego is heading up to Spring Mountain in Pahrump, NV this weekend, leaving Friday 4-15. We're joining the Las Vegas Porsche Club for a track day weekend. I don't think it's too late to take advantage of our club discount, which gets you four 30-min. sessions both Sat. & Sun. for $301, or around $350 if you want to rent a transponder. We're staying at the LV Hilton, where we're treated ike VIPs.

Spring Mountain is my favorite road course and is an absolute blast to drive. I've been to Laguna Seca, too, and it's fun, but a longer drive and more expensive. Check out Speed Ventures.

Thanks for the info you guys. I'm not going to be able to get into this until this time next year, but hopefully I'll be able to join someone on here one of these days. If you have any videos of what you do I would love to watch.

My first Air Force technical school was about 15 minutes from Laguna Seca... I didn't own a car at the time, but I wish I could go back with my Camaro. I was always too scared to go to one of the track days there on my motorcycle, but I really wish I had. I also should have paid the money to play Pebble Beach since that was also 15 minutes away... Ahhhh, missed opportunities.
