A little over spray isn't a huge deal...Go buy a quality clay kit, show her what you paid for it if you really think its worth it...Take 2 hours and a couple of beers, clay and re wax your car.
If you don't feel like you can do it. I'm sure a bodyshop or a detail shop would do it for $100 or so?

As many have said, it will come off.
My wife followed a stripe painting truck on the highway a few years ago. I had a white spots all over the front of my black Z71 truck. A clay bar took it all off and it was just like new. If you can't fix it yourself with a clay bar get a professional to do it. I wouldn't think it should cost more than $300. Jay Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

Yes it will work. Especially considering that it just happened and its still fresh. If he can't do it, then pay someone to take the time to clay it. It will work.

That woman had absolutely no common sense! Spray painting something 5 feet away from someones car...are you kidding me? She is brain dead. I would have been furious. Her insurance would be paying the bill for sure whether I liked her or not.
Best of luck getting it fixed. Happy Easter too. |

I had some paint on my Impala and I cleaned it off with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol and a MF towel.

From past experience with overspray its seems to me the calybar should work on the painted body parts for sure. AS far as the vinyl stripes are concerned I am not sure - Worst case is you may need to have them replaced since the clay bar doesn't seem to be working. Hopefully a body shop can do something for you.

Unless you use an aggressive clay bar, it might not get it all off.
You might just need to compound. When I had overspray on my car, compounding is the only thing that got rid of the tough spots. Otherwise, I had to take it to a local bodyshop and they removed most of it with a claybar and laquer thinner. Left a ton of swirls on the car, though. All in all, though, it's not something that requires a repaint. And yes, your neighbor should pay for all of it. The stripes are probably a loss because clay has a hard time catching material on them since they have a porous surface and you can't compound vinyl. |
