Suspension damage from crash

My son hit a curb at about 70 mph with right wheels causing a lot of damage. Broke the steering knucke, Broke the tie rod, bent control arm, damaged rotor brake line front fender. Shattered both wheels. Tore a hole in the rear caliper. Replacing these items. Waiting for parts.
Does anyone with experience in these matters have suggestions on how to assess the steering rack (electric) other than checking for binding or play once it’s all back together? Anything else I should be checking for? The alignment shop is about 10 miles away. Any way to check alignment and get it close enough not to wear tires excessively on the drive over?

that car needs to be assesed by a chassis/frame expert. i hope ur son is ok and that ur losses are minimal. the truth of the matter is that the damage you see on the outside, has zero to do with what you cant see.

my best advice is to take it to a chassis/frame expert and let them assess it. a 70mph 3800 pound hammer with momentum will flex/bend just about anything.

Id make sure that the car is structurally sound before making a decision on replacing anything

Are you just trying to get it quickly fixed so you can get rid of it?

I'd at least take it to a frame shop to see if there is any unibody structure damage.

Im going to replace the parts and see if it will align, if not sell it as a salvage car with bent frame. Cant really move it as is. It’s already been salvaged once. I bought it at insurance auction a couple years ago super cheap so didn’t carry any collision/comprehensive. It’s been a great car but I’m not going to mess with a bent frame, not worth it. I was really just hoping to hear from someone with practical, actual experience with this particular vehicle.

I've seen less damage totaled out on Copart. For the safety's sake of the potential buyer who might buy something like that, I'd just part it out.

My other objective is allowing the offender the pleasure of fixing the car out in the driveway, sweating, skinning knuckles etc as he reflects on his poor judgement. Just maybe, he’ll understand the consequences. Could have been really bad, but luckily nobody hurt.

You asked about the electric rack. I have torn up the front suspension on my car. Had my front wheels facing very different directions. Once I replaced the destroyed parts and had the car aligned the rack was fine. They are pretty tough.

If you need some rims just let me know, I have the set off my 2010 that needs new tires but are in great shape. They are Chrome 5 spoke like your 20x8 and 20X9,with tpms sensors in them.

Lmao, I think new rims are the least of his problems here
