when i change my grill i'll take a light off and see what the bowls look like

Would be interested in working together with other owners about getting relief from Chevrolet. Mines a 2012 and this shouldn’t happen, let alone this soon. Clearly a safety issue and, no, this doesn’t happen to all cars.

I would definitely support that. Does anybody know how to get something started to petition Chevrolet for assistance with a manufacturing defect?

Safercar.gov
You can also report a vehicle safety issue to NHTSA online at our vehicle safety Web site: www.safercar.gov. Select “File a Complaint” within the Defects and Recalls section of the home page. The information you submit via the Web site is recorded in VOQ format, entered into our consumer complaint database, and provided to our technical staff for evaluation.

When you fill out a VOQ online, you will be given the option of checking a box to authorize or not authorize the release of your personal identifiers to the manufacturer of the alleged defective product you own. Again, while you are not required to provide such authorization, doing so can sometimes help facilitate the recall process.

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

It only takes about 5 minutes, and have the following information handy:

Email Address -- To file a complaint without one or for other assistance, please call the Vehicle Safety Hotline (Toll-Free: 1-888-327-4236 / Hearing Impaired (TTY): 1-800-424-9153).
Your VIN
Make
Model
Year of your vehicle
Any documentation you have related to your complaint, such as photos or a police report

Good idea. Complaint filed. Hopefully we can encourage others to do it and get some relief from Chevrolet.

Perhaps this could be done with a borescope after removing the bulb?

The bowl on this cars is garbage... I had the same problem, and replaced the entire projector for a replica from TRS. I could understand that kind of damage using 50W ballasts, but not from the OEM 35W ones.

I'm having the same issue. I installed new bulbs thinking that was the issue. Currently we can't even drive the car at night. Until I saw this I couldn't figure out what the issue could be. I'm going to buy new assemblies and hope that fixes the issue. Thank you.

Just received the TYC's, got both as a package on Amazon for <$700. Will let you know how they go. Like another poster, I can't believe how poor the lenses are from GM!

Did anyone else who replaced headlights find a washer between lower outer tab and body mounting point? Thick metal washer, like a spacer actually... but not on the passenger side? Just the drivers, weird.

Also were your tyc replacements way out of Adjustment? Unsure what to expect here...
