I agree 680 and a few hundred pounds lighter would be amazing. However I don't think it can ever beat the bad ass look of the current ZL1 (IMO).
It doesn't need 800hp to compete with the hellcat. Right now I'm not that much slower than my Dads hellcat with 580hp. I'm going to get the JRE 75rwhp package in a few weeks and install that, I should be at around 650hp then and I'm sure I can take the hellcat.

I wonder if the brakes are carbon? They don't have much shine at least in the pics.

There's no doubt the new Z car will be a beast. I'm wondering about the price.. thinking it might start in the low $60k range.

If we take the new 6th Gen 2SS as compared to the 5th Gen 2SS we can see a bump in price from 3-6k respectfully. That would put the new 6th Gen ZL1 closer to the 65-70k range. At that price I'm looking for a Stingray......

I can't get past the grill. I'm sure it does a lot for cooling, but aesthetically it doesn't look that good to me.
I'll gladly keep my 15. |

I've watched a video of this going around the track. Definitely sounds like a N/A engine and the fact that all the tires are the same width might mean that it's a Z/28. The new ZL1, if they make one, will most likely get the new CTS-V engine with a few more ponies squeezed out. This also could be a 1LE trim level, but who knows?? I think it would be cool to release the ZL1 in 2019, which would mark the 50th Anniversary of the '69 ZL1.

Looks interesting but I agree with many others here, it sounds like an N/A car and possibly the next Z/28 (or whatever moniker they use).
I would have to see it in person sans the camo to really get a good feel for it but that old-man looking high belt-line and gun-slit window openings still really bug me. Door windows look even narrower than the 5th Gen.

https://youtu.be/OqSpSPKm_Hs Definitely Supercharged whine - this is the next ZL1. Oh, and there is another car too, that doesn't have the large grill, and maintains the 2016 SS hood nostrils - this is what folks believe is the next 1LE, also has a ducktail spoiler.
