placing order tomorrow and have quick question on pricing

I am placing my order tomorrow and the best the dealer could do is invoice + 3%. As I am trying to guestimate the price to see what would be in my ballpark price range I am finding it very hard to see what invoice price is for options on the 15 models. Does anyone have an idea what the usual markup is from invoice that gm uses for options? If it helps the options I am looking at are npp exhaust, mag ride, and auto transmission.

sorry, don't have a clue what MSRP is or what Invoice would be - pricing comes out in a couple weeks though.

I understand the 2016 pricing will not be released for few more weeks but I was trying to guestimate based off the history of prices. I guess what I am looking for that I had issues finding with google search is the list of options showing the msrp and invoice price for say the 2015 model. Unless there is an trend across other gm vehicles showing that msrp is a say a 20% markup over invoice.

Well if it means anything, I have read that the rule of thumb for last gen was MSRP-3%=Invoice price.
So it looks like he effectively got you to agree to pay MSRP I think.

I agree. The deal I worked was invoice + $800... then subtract my USAA rebate and I'm paying $50 over invoice. My dealer advised me that the difference in invoice for the 2015 model year 2SS was like $2485.

Doing the math and it actually comes up with a little bit of savings is not much. I know 3% off of msrp is not the same as invoice +3%. The msrp of a 2015 1ss is $33505 while invoice is $32165. Invoice plus 3% is $33129 so it's a $400 savings.while msrp minus 3% is $32450. This is just off the base price and when you factor in the msrp vs invoice on the options I would guess we could get about $750 to $800 off. I know it's not alot but it's a good chunk.

Then if you add in my USA discount I end up about $130 over invoice so not as close $50 but still close enough for me.

My issue comest calculating invoice price for options I cat seem to find a list for the 2015 that lists the msrp and invoice price.

Based on the invoice price for the 2015 model, the invoice seems to be basically 4% instead of 3% which is commonly quoted here.

But I have no clue if invoice is the same for options such as MRC, NPP, and auto, or if it is different. I would guess that is the same, while invoice for accessories (such as spoiler, or body kits, is considerably more.

On the 5th gen it was about 14% on options. 3-4 % on model msrp

I don't know about options (example, MRC, auto..etc.) but I believe that was on accessories, or add ons. It would seem very strange to me to offer that much more on the basic options. But if you know otherwise I'd say that would be pretty awesome.

Thanks step that is what I was looking for. I know other manufactures have then can't see why gm wouldn't.

This 13-14% is on options. We use to have a post on the early 2010-2012 listing dealer cost for each option, the invoice, the supplier price and full MSRP. Take the auto trans option price times .86 and you have dealer invoice. I'll see if I can find the link. I think it got pulled but a lot of us had printed it.

I am thinking GM Preferred should be employee pricing not supplier pricing. Dealer cost is less than the dealer pays but represents how much the unit is insured for from car hauler load to dealership in case something happens and the unit can not be sold.
