Bannonm: Mine made a difference. Here's a reasonable approach to the situation. The upgrades you mention will make much more of a noticeable difference in your car's handling than a strut tower brace. That's because the softness and imprecision, in the OEM suspension is so great. However, having fixed that, your precise, stiffer suspension will work most effectively - and more than anything else be more tunable - if the chassis is rigid. Unequal length A-arm front suspensions do not benefit from strut/shock tower braces as much as our strut suspensions do, because struts impart more side-loading with resultant deflection. The braces, in tying the towers together, minimize it. Suggest doing it, but doing it last.

Looking at picking up one of the factory bits myself. Did it require any drilling etc to mount, or are the points all already there?

There is movement in the strut towers and we think that is a good thing. Your turn in will be better without a strut tower bar. Add a strut tower bar and you'll need to increase your front negative camber and toe out a bit to compensate. My preference is no bar.

Picked up the factory brace today from a fellow off Craigslist. New, never installed (he has a 2010 and didn't realize the strut towers are a different shape).

Installed (yeah, I spared the 5 mins it took!) but haven't gone driving yet as it just started to pour out. Sigh.....

I have one of the factory GM Strut Tower Braces off the Camaro Convertible. Quick and easy install on my 2011 coupe, as the holes were already there. Feels a lot more solid in the corners. Great mod!

Paid $123.50 at local dealer. What I like best is it looks like it belongs.

It seems a lot of responses here are about cosmetics and such on this. If I am correct, the OP wants to know if users who have this have noticed an actual improvement on the track, ie. track tested.

It seems some sponsors are pushing to use it and others suggest not to. Good luck in your decision, maybe someone can you let you borrow one at a track for a day and you can get an idea before you buy.
