Getting old gas out of the tank;94 1LE
1st post. Have a low mileage 94 1LE bought new. Car is a "trailer queen" and not used on the road. From time to time I start the car and everything is fine. Have added "stay fresh" additive to gas to preserve it.
I tried to syphone the tank but it does not work due to I believe sometype of baffle in the tank. Can disconnet the fuel filter and then run the gas out of tank by running fuel pump w/o starting the car. Just want a few comments on the subject. Larry |

Just screw on a length of hose to fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail, use a length of hose long enough to insert into a container. Pull the fuel pump relay and jumper across to
power up fuel pump. Run pump till tank is empty. |

OK; found the fuel test port on the rails. Does anybody know what type of fitting I would need to hook a hose up to drain the tank?? Thanks in advance.--Larry |

OK; I think I found the answer. Have Kent Moore fuel rail adapter#J34730-75 coming to me. Hopefully it will hook
up and then I can drain the old gas. Larry --Any comments are welcome |

have to pull the core in the test port since the fuel came up (volume) at a good clip. Thanks to RBD for the idea. It is very tight in there so patience is a must. Only problem I had was that the small alligator clip kept falling off the "pump test connector". I will start a new thread with a question on this connector. Thanks--Larry P.S. Put fresh 93 octane in and started right up and ran fine. |

OK; here is what I came up with. It took a lot of reseach and help from
other discussion boards. FWIW: The connector shown in the picture is Delco#PT242 GM#12101850 (Female) The Male counter part should be: Delco#PT220 GM#12101828.(Although not tested and confirmed) Thanks to all. Larry P.S. Picture of the connector is on my other post. Last edited by 19941LE; 09-22-2013 at 08:16 AM. Reason: Added Info |
