Remote Start Available for the Manual Tranny?

The automatic transmission, RPO MXO, for the 2LT & 2SS trim levels comes with remote start, Reference RPO BTV, and also comes with the 1LT auto if the SRJ Convenience & Connectivity Package is included, which evidently contains the wiring/enabling. That leaves the LS & 1SS trims, but the C&C Package does not appear to be available on those, so remote start is not possible even with the auto trans, nor is it shown anywhere as being available on those. And it does not appear the C&C Package is available as an after-factory option.

So then, what is the GMPP part "92213216 Remote Starting System, Factory-Enabled" intended for if not the M6 manual car with the factory C&C Package? Am I missing something?

No manual car will ever have remote start from the factory. It's way too much liability.

Actually, GM had a remote start system for a manual tranny in R&D to be used in the next couple years but since they stopped all R&D for the time being, it will take longer.

Clifford made one that a store I worked for about 9 years ago offered. They installed it in 1 car, a Mustang. The Mustang owner proceeded to forget to leave the car in neutral, and sent his car through his garage and into his neighbors. We stopped carrying it....

They are illegal here in TX...to my knowledge. Why? For the reasons listed above...safety and liability. No remote starts in manuals. I think there is an easy fix, though. Just like getting by the gas guzzler tax and installing the skip shift, you could easily but some sort of transistor, sensor, etc so that the auto starter will ONLY start when the tranny is in neutral. Simple, IMO...put it in neutral, get out, close door, push start and vroom..there it is. Put it in 1st or any other gear and it's a no go.

What you're all saying is what I thought. Although, like you said, Tag, the gear and maybe E. brake sensors could make it safe if they never failed, or if there was a failure sense to then lock it out.
I posed the question because after looking at the data I just couldn't figure out where the GMPP option would be useable. If the car is "factory enabled", meaning the Convenience & Connectivity Package, and has an auto trans., then it already has remote start!
Looks like as far as a logical explanation, so far the guy with the fuzzy buddy thingy's got the best/only one.

Can it be started without pushing in the clutch?

I was thinking the same, I thought you had to push the clutch for the car to start. Remote start is nice but should not be installed on a manual trans car, if you need it, buy an automatic IMO.

What is the advantage of starting your car from 10 feet away over just getting in and starting it?
Unless it can drive itself to you James Bond style I don't see the point
