cunning thought

Oil-wise:
My issue is (actually not an issue, I'm lovin it) the car will be running on the German Autobahn at speeds around and above 150mph, some times far more than that, and temps in summer raise above 95F quite frequently...

Just wanna make sure the oil does what it is supposed to do at the resulting temps, without (not yet) adding an extra oil-cooler....

Might want to also look at upgrading your brakes as well as suspension. Since you live in Germany and driving at those speeds.

I lived there back in the 90's and had a twin turbo RX7. The car would fly but I had to upgrade the suspension and brakes. It got a little loose when going above 175. Once the suspension and brakes were upgraded it was fine.

Oh how awesome that must be. Ive only gotten my car up to the 150mph range a few times since its just 'slightly' illegal (LOL)

I would check with a performance shop that deals with autobahn set up cars just to be sure. The 95 degree weather shouldnt be a problem, but the sustained high speeds (and probably RPMS) may. I am totally curious though, so if you do get a answer -- please post it!

Biggest thing I miss about Germany is people knowing what the left lane is used for PASSING! Here in the US you have people cruising the speed limit without a care in the world what the left lane is there for in the first place.

Trust me, we have more than enough bright-sparked jacka??es around here ignoring this left lane thing - guess that's why I am loving my Brembos!!!

Anyway: anybody who could chime in on constant high speeds&temps and the adequate oil tha goes along with it?

The oil cooler option is the 2nd option for now...

Don't know about that there were some hot European cars built for the Autobahn. It is pretty impressive when you are passed like your not moving when your speedo is between 175 and 185.

Right... almost sorted, thanks for the support so far
the "Oil question" seems like I just gotta figure out by myself though....

Holy mother, I wished it wouldn't be such a pita to find the right vendors willing to ship all the bits and pieces across the pond

You may want to consider a Roto-fab intake for your Maggie. Many tuners have done their own testing and choose our intake for all of their S/C cars.

I so appreciate that, thanks Jessika!

Unfortunately (or rather fortunately) I already ordered my Maggie, funny enough this was the easy part. A local performance shop is doing the job for me (no DIY for me here) and stocks them usually, the rest of the setup is pretty tricky though....

There definitely is room (rooooom) for improvement over here as far as Camaro aftermarket is concerned!

Keep you posted on the progress I made on choosing the right "Autobahn Motor Oil"

Sounds great! We have dealers all over the world, so it makes it easy! (at least that part anyway!)

sidenote: I recently helped a guy with his Hemi TVS2300 install on a 6.1 Challenger that is being deployed to Germany and taking his car with him...

Regarding the oil question here in Texas summer heat I and all of my Maggie friends use Moble 1 15-50 summers and Moble 1 10-30 winter. Plus ALL of us, blown and NA, are using NGK TR-6 plugs which should be good for your sustained high speed driving. I also use the same oil and plugs in my TT 427 Vette and have for many years with no issues. You will love the maggie. And, one pound of boost will basically equate to 20-25 rwhp depending on your engine. Good Luck
