Is it common for a turbo car to loose 5-6 mpg under normal driving conditions at 70 with cruise set afr is reading 14-15 I have a single top mount 7475 comp zl1 pump 1000 cc injectors or is it it in the tune

In my experience with turbo cars and bikes, they normally get stock mpg or 2 to 4 mpg better, especially if you are talking 91/93 pump gas, I would look at the cruise timing in the tune if your afr is correct.

Are you looking at the in-dash MPG represented or actually doing the calculations?

I did not lose any MPG when adding the turbos to the car and having it tuned. But when I added the cam, MPG took a big hit (4MPG).

Still using 93octane I wasn't expecting much change at all during normal driving conditions up until now every mod has actually gained mpg.... for all the tuners in the group what would you suggest afr is solid while cruising 14-15 at idle it's 16-17 and will gas you out with the smell...no cats of course but wasn't this bad before the turbo

Like others have said, with a turbo, and a proper tune, your gas mileage should be the same as it was before. Get your tuner to have another look.

Your AFR should be fluctuating, up and down, around 14.7, at idle and cruising speeds.

Don't trust the DIC, do a hand calculation and see where it really is.

And you have to keep your foot out of it.

power enrichment fueling can be coming in too early.

Ted.

I agree definitely not normal. My gas mileage got a little better on the highway and a little worse around town. I'm sure the converter has a lot to do with that though.

I'm a v6 not a v8 but I average 30-32mpg on highway trips. Gotta love turbos.
