OP, which dealerships in CA did you go to? If you don't remember the name specifically give the general location. There were several around LA and East of there that had mark-ups over $15k last year and I heard a couple were doing it on the 2011 SG SS's and a smaller mark-up (up to $4500) on the rest.

$2,400 under MSRP / $1,000 under invoice in San Diego, CA on a 2011 2SS/RS.
No problems for me.

They have huge overhead and have to make some profit to stay in business. If you dont buy then it is no loss to them. Good Luck!

Why don't you just buy a car from the "Autos for Sale" section by members of this forum? Quick and easy and save thousands.

$500 over invoice is what I've found with the more reasonable dealers. Others won't budge for much less than MSRP.

Not too long ago I can remember when MSRP was the bottom end! Most places near me were wanting at least $3000 over!

All I can say to the OP is people have to feed their families. I get a little sick of everyone wanting a "deal". If you can't afford the car, go buy a cheaper one. Everybody thinks they're entitled.

So what's the issue? Camaros aren't being discounted, and that's a bad thing? You get it back when you sell it (higher resale value).

If you want discounts, buy a mustang.

I would also try for a 2010 if you want to get cheaper. That was also one of my mistakes. 2010 last I checked had a 2k cashback and if you were a college student, another 2k in certain areas. No incentives at all on 2011.

2 dealerships wouldn't budge a penny under msrp. one actually asked me to leave. the third i negotiated with for 3 hours. the car was $29k sticker. i offered $26k. nope. no way. the best they could do was $500 over invoice. they finally told me they couldn't help and actually told me to buy a car on the internet.

and the prices for dealer options... $800 for racing stripes, $400 window tint, $300 flashing third tail light, $900 alloy wheels, $200 window vin etchings, and they all had that lovely $999 "doc fee" whatever that is.
Consider takin a small jaunt to South Jersey... i paid less than sticker, trust me. but it doesnt (sometimes) happen in one visit. it was research, some planning, etc. i know several dealers pretty well now...

I just picked up my Synergy Green 2SS on Tuesday and I paid 250 under invoice in Wisconsin. I shopped at 7 different dealers, 4 of them would not take a penny off sticker, and the other 3 started near invoice. It has now been 2 months since I started looking and the guys that wanted invoice still have their Camaros still sitting in their lot. The other 3 have been selling cars. But I do think trying to get 3000 off a 2011 is a bit much, maybe soon on a 2010. But it never hurts to ask, the worst they can do is say No!

I have to check my paperwork tonight but I payed $35,000 before taxes for my 2010 2SS/RS A6. Sticker price was around $38,500 (this is why I have to check my paperwork, I dont remember the exact sticker price). Is everybody here including TT&L on the dollar amount you are saying you paid for your car?
