2012 Camaro info?
Been looking at getting a 2011 Camaro for a while now, still trying to get my financial ducks-in-a-row first. Since I may have some time to wait around, I was just curious if there was any rumored specs out for the 2012 models.
Looking at the V6 version, and would love it if Chevy was able to upgrade the performance to match up or best the 2011 Mustang! |

There's supposed to be an interior update. The Z/28 is supposed to be released and the convertible is supposed to be released.

It already has more horsepower than the 2011 V6 Mustang.

It is not always about the meager difference in flywheel hp.
The 2011 v6 is approximately 3,500 lbs (305fwhp) The 2010 camaro v6 is 3,700lbs (312fwhp) That is a approximate 200lb or weight difference for only a "Big Maybe" 7 fwhp. Yep, let's hope 2012 will be a 350hp GM V6. |

Interested in seeing what interior updates they do, as I actually like the current model's interior.
Just wondering if they'll up the HP somehow (and yes, right now it's technically more than the Mustang). |

I believe he is talking about the 2011 Mustang, compared to the 2010 camaro.

As much as I'd love it, I'd bet a large sum you will not see a power increase for the V6. (maybe we will see some special edition turbo version perhaps??) I don't think we may see an increase for the 3.6 until the next Gen....but that one is supposed to be lighter, so even if there is no performance increase for the V6 it will still be faster.
I think what GM should offer is gearing options. I doubt they'd go to 3.73s (maybe??) but at least give us 3.55 gears as an option for the V6, auto and manual. That way they can still advertise the great MPGs, and us performance minded people will have that performance option. Its the easiest and cheapest route by far to catch that pesky 2011 mustang with performance package. But as of now...theres talk of an interior upgrade.

Camaro release dates? 2012 Camaro when?
The 2010 Camaro was released March 2009 right? Did the 2011's come out in March 2010?
Curious as to when the '12 models will be released.

I hope the first convertibles they build in the spring will be 2012's. I think they will be 11 models though.
Any body know for sure. |

Does anyone know why a car built in, say March 2009, is designated a 2010 model? I may be a bit thick, but it's something I've never quite understood.
