Got pulled over for speeding - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Today I got pulled over for 45 in a 30. Forty five feels extremly slow in a camaro didnt even realize I was speeding. Not only that but no plate in the front, tint too dark and couldnt find my registration. After all this the cop was really cool about everything and just gave me a warning.

I know I was completely wrong but just wanted to share this cause I hear them getting bashed a lot sometimes rightfully so but there are some cool cops out there.

Get you a Valentine 1... I've yet to get pulled over with mine...it's paid for itself multiple times probably

i got pulled over the other day, and i only got a $10 fine for not having my registration.

I've had my car for one week now and have been pulled over twice!

First time I got a ticket, but the cop was gracious enough to reduce it.

Second time I got a warning and a stern lecture to "be safe".

Even though I have the V6, this thing will climb on you without feeling like you're going any faster! When I got pulled the first time, I was doing 71 in a 55 and didn't feel any difference.

I bought a Valentine One when I had my first Corvette. My girlfriend (now wife) gave me hell for spending $400 on a radar detector... Then she borrowed my car for a few days... Then she made me buy her a Valentine!
We never drive anywhere without our V1's plugged in! They're a good investment!!!

$400 is not a bad price to pay if it helps you not get one ticket. I would really like to see how they perform against a laser gun. I would imagine that once it detects the laser beam, the cop has got you locked in from 200 yards or more away. I need to find a friendly officer with a laser and someone with a laser detector to see how well they work. Anyone ever try it?

Glad you didn't get a ticket! Be safe out there, our kids are playing in the streets.

We usually write for 15+ over here, depending on the situation. If you have a clean license, a good attitude, and are willing to admit that you were speeding - (which we already know), then chances are higher that you will get a warning out of me or my co-workers!

I too would like to test out the effectiveness of Lidar detectors... Anyone around NW/Central Arkansas wanna test one?

I bet you will find that the detectors do not work too well. The laser beam is probably a couple of inches wide by the time it gets to the car and it's being aimed at the front plate or bumper so the detector in the window will probably never pick it up.

My thoughts exactly, but it would be nice to get a REAL test to see what we are up against, not some "User Feedback" thats scripted from the detector company!

I know when I run radar, I actually watch the cars and don't activate until I'm ready to lock, so by the time someone reacts, I have them. It's best to just go the speed limit
