Sorry it took me so long to come across your thread but it looks like all your questions were answered. We actually sell these the several Chevy dealers. Thanks for your order by the way.

What if you don't want to accelerate fast at that moment. For $12, I'd rather be in control.

You really don't accelerate that fast to avoid it, like I said, just my opinion. What ever works for ya.

not an issue until you start to shift and it kicks in and then your now lugging the hell out of your motor....
nor should have to speed up to avoid it.

It's a nice, simple mod. Took me about 5 mins. to install on a car lift. No more stubborn computer forcing you to shift into 4th from 1st.

Just my $0.02

I have installed the Apex skip-shift eliminator on my 2SS and I love it. Sure I can just ride 1st gear out a little longer if the skip-shift pops up, but I figure I should be able to shift to 2nd whenever the hell I want to, so to me, it's well worth the money.

It's easy to install, as long as you can get your car high enough to get underneath it. I installed it in my garage with a jack and 4 jack stands. Just find the right solenoid, unplug it, plug the cable into the eliminator, and plug the other end of the eliminator into the transmission solenoid.

A word of caution, make sure you allow enough time for everything to cool down. I was surprised that my exhaust could have cooled down to ambient temperature, and then still burn the crap out of my arm on the side of the transmission where it was still cooking. I guess an empty metal tube just cools down faster than a metal transmission filled with oil. Who knew? (sarcasm)

I figure the skip-shift eliminator may not be exactly necessary, but I don't want the computer to lock me out of any gear (except reverse when I'm moving forward), ever. Just the one or two occasional times I got skip-shifted before I bought the eliminator was enough to aggravate the snot out of me.

Just placed my order. I had been thinking about one for a while. I was pulling into traffic onetime and forgot about the skip shift and after fumbling with the shifter for a few seconds I finally got it in gear. The people in traffic were probably wondering what the heck was going on. After reliving that in my memory all day I placed my order.

I hear these kind of stories pretty regularly from customers buying Skip Shift Eliminators. Thanks for your orders.
