With about 8000 miles on mine, Im getting 16.8 on the computer. Mixed driving conditions from running around town to driving it like I stole it, probably more of the latter. I have gotten 24 on an interstate trip.

Don't know why mine is so bad.I,ve owned the car for two weeks and I average 12.8 going back and forth to work hitting lights ,but not bad traffic at 5 a.m.I have an auto and drive it in S or manual mode all the time.Maybe D would make a difference.I am not too peeved,my gas mileage on my charger RT never matched up either.Must be my driving style.

With 2700 miles total on my SS A6 the idiot gauge showed 22.6 Got a fresh load of fuel, reset the gauge and after about 125 miles showing 20.8 Can't complain, gets better gas mileage than any thing else I own.

Your request is pointless. Asking people what they get has no bearing on what you will get in MPG.
Best to use facts, and even then you won't really know for sure. You need to use common sense to make that decision: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymod...t_Camaro.shtml Interesting here that they use Regular gas on the SS's. Bottom line is that isn't that much difference between the two, although every little bit helps I suppose. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 6 cyl, 3.6 L, Manual 6-spd, Regular Gasoline 17 City 21 Combined 29 Highway $2549 per year 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 6 cyl, 3.6 L, Automatic (S6), Regular Gasoline 18 City 22 Combined 29 Highway $2437 per year 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 8 cyl, 6.2 L, Manual 6-spd, Regular Gasoline 16 City 19 Combined 24 Highway $2817 per year 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 8 cyl, 6.2 L, Automatic (S6), Regular Gasoline 16 City 19 Combined 25 Highway $2817 per year Annual Fuel Costs are based on 45% highway driving, 55% city driving, and 15000 annual miles. Assumed Fuel Prices: Regular: 3.57 Midgrade: 3.69 Premium: 3.81

Don't downgrade to a V6 just because of the MPG. You can see above, it's not worth the depreciation hit, because it will take years of gas savings to recoup the losses. Unless of course you A LOT OF HIGHWAY driving.
My suggestion to OP, go for it! You will love the V8 if that's what you want.

I was averaging a little over 20 but since the ethanol in Florida is getting outta hand mine has been getting closer to 18.5 now. That is mostly around town driving.

His request isn't pointless. If you and I have a similar car and my gas mileage is way off compared to yours, there are multiple reasons why that could be. Asking a question like this could be a way for him to determine just that.

I put about 100 miles/day on my car (70% highway, 30% city), and I average around 19. I drove 250 miles a few days ago (mostly highway), and I averaged about 22 mpg.
