Just picked up my ZL1! Need Employee Pricing Code!! Help Please!

Alright, so my Red Hot ZL1 came in two days ago and I bought it (since it was May 31, I took advantage of the Chevy $1,000 cash rebate and I used my supplier pricing code that my company I work for provided which dealer honored).

Everything was good and I signed the paper work, and I was astounded how much the car was ($59 plus tax - Red Hot, M6, PDR, no other options). Car is 64k MSRP. I signed and drove away.

Get a call from the dealer this morning from the manager and says "We got a problem, we thought you said Employee Pricing and you gave us a Supplier Code."

I told him "I NEVER once said employee pricing. I told you from the very beginning in March when I ordered this car that I would be doing supplier and even you said you would not honor employee pricing. I even brought it up again when I was picking it up. I must have said the word SUPPLIER SUPPLIER SUPPLIER SUPPLIER over 10 times.

Long story short, he says they will honor employee pricing now if I can get a code.

Can any one help me with this?

He is saying I need to pay the difference of $2,447.00

The car is at home.

What can I legally do if I signed all the paper work and took the car home already with already over 200 miles on the odometer? From my perspective, the dealer screwed up and was not paying attention, so they should eat the cost of their screw up.

Thanks for any help, it is really appreciated!!

BTW love this car!!! Everything else rocks. Now just need to wash it..... didn't want any dealer installed swirl marks.

If you signed the paperwork and have a copy I would think its your car. Supplier discount should be a similar amount I would think. Let them apply that.

You have to be related to an employee to get it..... by blood or marriage....

You have a signed contract, I figure you are good.....

Unless there's language in the contract that says something along the lines of they can change the deal if a discount is later found to not apply, they're stuck. There may also be language stating that the contract isn't executed until approved by a sales manager or something. If that person didn't sign it yet, then they may have a leg to stand on.

You could probably get a lawyer to look at the contract for a nominal fee.

Yes, great point. This was important information I left out. I financed the car. $20K down. I had the full amount but had to wait for a check to clear the bank since I also sold my Jeep the same day.... now I am kicking myself in the butt that I didn't pay for it in full

So they CAN kill the deal if I walk away?

Dealer has to eat the rest of that cost, they can't do anything legally, their screw up! I wouldn't even respond back, not your problem now.

The bank/financial institution you borrowed the $ from could not care less, they gave the dealer their money and the deal is done.

I don't believe cash or finance has anything to do with it, the sales contract is what matters.

wrong...UNTIL they gt paid from the financial institution..they can kill the deal..
-it's called "CONDITIONAL DELIVERY AGREEMENT"..
anytime a deal is financed or leased..you sign that..
look thru your paperwork..see if you've signed that...
it sucks..but its reality

Their mistake. They just don't want to lose as much money on the deal so they're asking you for the difference. They did the employee pricing and tried to get the difference from GM but oops realized we don't have the employee price certificate or code so GM won't reimburse them. Their mistake not yours.

the CDA is in case they cant fund the deal, even tho it got approval from the lender...it protects the dealer...you got "approved" on the note/lease...and they need some additional paperwork from you(even tho you've picked the car up)- if you dont provide the paperwork, etc...they can ask for the car back..rare..but it happens..

-if there is a way for you to call the lending institution and find out if they paid the dealer, do it..
if they got paid..tell the dealer to kick rocks.
