Test drove my first one today... now what?

What's going on ladies and gents? I've been a member for a while now and finally got my chance to test drive a 2LT today. I've got to say that I was pretty scared driving the thing for the simple fact that it wasn't mine and I'm used to driving a base model Mitsubishi Lancer. But everything went well and I only fell more in love with the car. I just wanted to ask you guys a few questions before I go back on Saturday to talk numbers and decide whether I should lease or buy.

1. Should I wait to pre-order a 2011, 2012 or should I just go for the current model?
2. Does the leather get messed up easily or should I get a cloth 1LT with all of the features of the 2LT?
3. Are there any other concerns I should have?

Get the Leather, 2010 - 2011 offers a few differences for a new model.. do you want to wait that long? More HP on the SS reported and probably some trim changes.. I have the '10, 2LT RS V6, fully loaded minus the sunroof.. I have 8100 miles on it in 3 months and its awesome to be in it! (I am on the road DAILY) Other than typical stuff (chips, squeaky interior fan and stitching coming out on seat belt retainer, all cov'd warranty issues.. I am THRILLED to be enjoying it NOW... Lease.. unless there is a special lease company around, I have not heard of them leasing yet..

The dealership i came from today said they can do a lease option although it isn't common.

The only reason I ask these questions is because I'm the type of person who wants the newest version of something and if I were to get one and something better comes out a couple of months later I'll be pissed.

Wow, you must go through a lot of computers and cell phones!

Seriously, there is really little or no advantage to getting a '11. Looks the same, performs the same.

Waiting for the latest and greatest usually means waiting indefinitely for something.

Because I'm overseas, and really am not in a position to buy right now, I'm trying to look at the positives of waiting. So, I've come up with this list to convince myself that it's not such a bad thing:

1. Used 2010s will be a lot cheaper by the time I buy.
2. The convertible will be out before I buy.
3. The Z28 may be available before I buy.
4. The interior is supposed to be redesigned for 2012, which will be before I buy.

Are these reasons good enough to wait? I think that's a personal decision. However, I don't drive myself crazy wishing I could buy now because this list keeps me sane..........well sort of.

I debated waiting also, but take it from me, there is no way someone could pay me to give up my 2SS and wait for the new one to come out. Ok, I would love the HUD and optional short throw they are going to offer on the 2011, but you are looking at a nice little wait behind everyone that already ordered one. If you put your order in now, you may not get it unto late November which what is the fun in that when it will be too cold (and snow on the ground depending on where you are) to enjoy it. IF something comes out (Z28, convertable) that I absolutely cannot live without I can trade in my 2SS '10, but take it from me, personally I didn't want to wait. You can get hella good deals on '10 right now. I got my 2SS for 32k. Don't overlook slightly used ones.

2011 will net you a few ponies on paper.

But unless you want a HUD, I don't really see any value in waiting for 2011.

You have to keep in mind that 2010 is the first production year of the fifth Gen Camaro and therefore will be worth more money later. I plan on keeping mine forever and just buying another one when this one is paid off.

Well, since you say that, would you be satisfied with the 2010 knowing you could have ordered a 2011 with HUD?

same here, in fact I never even saw one in person or on the road when I ordered mine. Buy it now, no reason to wait.
