Trucks and Magnaride suspension systems

Are there any trucks (or SUV's) offered with Magnaride? I thought that the ZR2 used them, but apparently they are multimatic, they would work similarly to the ZL1 1LE shocks? Then I saw that the new Canyon AT4 doesn't use either of these types of shocks. Got me thinking who does use Magnaride shocks on their trucks? With the cost of these new high-end model trucks I would think the price would justify the cost of highend suspension setup.

Do magnetic shocks just not work well for heavy loads, or off road applications? They work great for giving great performance, and a smooth and comfortable ride. I would think they would make sense for trucks. I would assume they would work fine on a SRA?

You are correct. Apparently so do the Tahoe and Suburban LTZ models and this is from something I read from 2015. No pickups that I can see though.

The multimatic shocks on the ZR2 are incredible. They give a smooth, comfortable ride yet absorb potholes like they aren't even there. Then there's the off-road capability...

All 2015 and up Sierra Denali 1500s use Magneride shocks.

My 2017 is a noticeable improvement in ride over my 2014 that didn't have the Magneride system. Both are 6.2l Crewcab 4x4s.

Edit: I also tow and haul with my truck - 30' camper, 28' enclosed car hauler. Suspension handles great, will add airbags this year to help with the weight a bit.

^I was thinking that Magnaride would be able to give good towing and hauling performance while at the same time a comfortable ride when not being loaded. Kind of like it can give you good handling, but also a comfortable ride.

Hell it might could really help the ride on a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. I'd think Magnaride could be made to work well with leafs. (As is evident by your truck)

It's only available on 1500s, and having owned a 2500 Dmax before, the ride is infinitely better with my 2017 1500. I would probably go back to an HD truck if they offered a Magneride system to improve how stiff they currently are.

That probably has more to do with the springs than the shocks. The spring is what bears the load & they're probably spec'd for being used when the truck is around 8000 to 9000 pounds. That requires stiff springs, and having an adjustable shock probably isn't going to smooth things out much when driving empty.

Partly, but the way the suspension absorbs shocks and road imperfections is what I am describing. GM could also go to a coil spring in their 2500 lineup like Ram has.

I've ridden in a friend's ZR2 multiple times and those multimatic shocks are a marvel of modern technology. They give you a Cadillac-esque ride on the street and soak up the off-road bumps like a champ as well. Yes, they are incredible!

And? The OP didn't say anything about independent suspensions. He did mention that he thought that magride aught to work on a solid axle. But what type of axle your (or anyone elses) truck has is kinda irrelevant to what the OP was asking.
