Opinions for Magnuson Setup

I know asking for opinions on a forum can sometimes be dangerous, but here it goes anyway.

I'm looking to add a Magnuson 2300 to my car pretty soon and wanted to get some input on the setup I was planning on.

I'm looking at the Magnuson blower with 1:1 cog setup. I'd also add a methanol kit just for safety and peace of mind, not looking to use to make a ton more power. Was thinking either Alky or Prometh with a trunk tank. Alky seems to be the most popular and proven, but Prometh seems to have a little better fit and finish in terms of fittings and is a little easier on the wallet (not trying to find the cheapest options, but not trying to break the bank either).

I know I'd have to upgrade the fuel system as well, but this is perhaps where I have the most questions. I was thinking of doing a ZL1 fuel pump with ADM FPCM, but I'm not sure if this is enough, don't really want to add a BAP. Looking to make somewhere around 600-625 RWHP. Also, would the injectors that come in the Magnuson kit be sufficient? I believe it comes with LS9 injectors which are 59 or 60 lbs I think. Or would I need to get a larger injector, 850s?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Using meth will lower fuel demand, aside that the zl1 pump /mod fpcm can do 600whp-650whp with no bap if your tuner knows to for mod fpcm tune to zl1 tune on the adm fpcm

I made 659 whp with a LSA supercharger, ZL1 fuel pump and ADM FPCM and 65 lb injectors at 85% on 93 octane. No BAP necessary.

Forget the alky and go e85. Add an aux pump to the ZL1 pump and ADM FPCM and go to 1300 injectors.

Don't really want to go e85, very few gas stations around me have it. I don't want to worry about finding an e8f pump when traveling either.

I don't think you need meth to be safe, IMO it makes things less safe as you take away fuel to run it, then if you have a failure you are lean, and boom. I tuned on 93, now I run 16oz of Klotz for safety. If you tune a car on 93, then just put meth injection on top of it you will actually reduce power. If going to 650whp I would probably add a BAP. I was at 600whp without it, 700whp now with the JMS and my fuel pressure is good. I have larger injectors than you are talking though. Might just get the bigger injectors if I were you.

If you don't want to run meth, spend a fortune on a bespoke fuel delivery system and have the worry about high IAT's then I recommend you go Maggi Heartbeat 2.3L blower kit. Utilise a ZL1 fuelling system. Mine's making a solid 700hp with that kit, some long tubes, some decent heads and a factory cam. Drives like a *****cat til you get on it. Install looks like a factory fit, great well-engineered kit. Options with pulleys and ID1050 squirters to push it further if needed but for the street (here in Yewkay) 700 is enuff.

600rwhp is pretty easy to obtain with a supercharger. You can easily get there with out meth or E. My question is do you have specs on your cam? Is it a roots style blower? With a 3400rpm stall a roots blower might not be the best choice.

Like Vegas said, do the flex fuel. It’s not even that much to throw into the cost of the kit, and will add a significant amount of power. You won’t have to worry about finding it since you can travel on 91/93. When your in the city tho, fill up on E. I have a vendor about an hour away I go pick up a 55 gal drum from. Since my car only need E 50ish to make the added power.

I’m running a Maggie 2300,3.4 pully night fury cam, zl1 fuel pump, 65 psi fast injectors, 93 pump gas making 619 jp and 590 tq, my car has 91600 miles on it, only issue I have had is clutch and axles, don’t need meth injection unless you plan on turning it up. I plan on doing meth soon, cuz like you e85 is hard to come by in louisiana, and I daily my camaro, it’s a fun little set up.

I think the cog is over kill for 600. There was a guy who recently ran the heartbeat on a forged 376. Pretty sure he made 900ish with just the regular pulley type.

Wish he would have followed up on his thread. It was a very nice build.
