Any chance I will pass inspection
I have a 2010 camaro ss
I have a new era performance CAI I have XS power LT's with no cats, no resonators, and no mufflers. I have SCT programmer with a custom tune. I have a friend who will pass me at a inspection station The car keeps throwing fuel trim lean bank 1,2. Is this a computer or mechanical issue? What to do? Im going crazy,I cant get a inspection sticker |

I don't know what MA testing is like but if they are hooking up through the DLC like they do here in NC it is not going to pass if there are codes and/or readiness monitors are not set. If it is just a visual inspection and you know someone who will overlook the cats then that is one thing.
Who did your tuning? Sounds like they need to tweak it some more. If you're getting lean codes then it needs to be adjusted in the tune barring any mechanical issues. How long have you had the headers and how long have the codes been on? |

Unless your friend will just rubber stamp you, there's no way in hell you'll pass. Your car, in current form, will violate every aspect of emissions testing. That means visual, readiness codes, sniffer, everything.
As Kelly stated, if you have a custom tune and you're still throwing codes, you have a tuning issue. Contact the shop that did the tune and have them fix it.

+1. Sounds like a for sure fail to me. I'd contact your tuner about the lean codes asap. You don't want to be driving around lean period.

OK I checked, I tuned your car 6/2011, if your getting lean codes I would start by cleaning the MAF Sensor with MAF Sensor Cleaner. Also Check for Vacuum Leaks and Exhaust leaks. Clear the codes and Log the Car and send me the Logs Per the instructions. Not sure why you didn't ask me first? Ted.

Why do all that to your car and then worry about inspections? No mufflers in Texas will get you tossed under the visual, I found a place that green lights me before I ever made the decision to mod things that would fail...

Funny...I know a Bourque that lives on Cape Cod.
Anyway, no you will not pass until you get the codes cleared out and do the GM drive cycle to set the readiness statuses. If you have a very friendly inspector he may let you pass without the visual, but somehow doubt it given that your car has LTs and nothing but straight pipe the rest of the way. A friend inspector that will deliberately pass you even after he hears your car sure, a normal inspector will not after hearing the car start. |

had a similar problem, with trim banks lean, kept throwing an engine light even after a retune, ended up they pressure tested the valve springs and found 3 weak springs, put all new springs in and that solved the problem, thank goodness it was under warranty

Looks like Ted is going to take care of you. Don't worry.

Your stock valve springs were weak? Wth? I thought stock springs lasted a lifetime. You must have like 200k miles on your car. Lol
