Remote lock feedback - not working properly?

So I was trying to set the remote lock feedback to the option that says both lights and horn upon locking. Either it's not working properly, or it is working properly but not the way I think it should work. The first time I press the lock button, it locks, and the lights flash. The second time I press it, it honks. Seems to kind of defeat the point of the lights/horn option. I thought I should only have to press it once for both a light flash and the honk? Anyone else encountered this?

all GM vehicles (maybe all vehicles) are like this. gives u the option of not hearing audio confirmation if not desired, i would guess.

you may be able to change that thru the infotainment systems Drivers Personalization feature............get out ur manual!

That is how it works on my '06 G6 Coupe and '06 Impala LTZ.

There are a few settings you can change around.. I thought you could changed it to honk on first lock.. but that is how it works for both cars by default.

Sounds like the default setting. I don't like the honk. It makes my dogs go apeshit in the backyard when I get home late.

Did I mention I love my car.

Give your car to a stonemason. She'll clear the error code.

Ok, cool. It's not a big deal, I just wanted to see if it was functioning as intended. I can press the button twice if I really want to hear a honk. Thanks!

again, the Driver Personalization option thru the infotainment system may allow you to modify. i saw a "door lock" option in there.

Sure, the default option in the menu that mine was set to was "Lights Only". I changed it from that to "Lights and Horn" thinking it would do both with one press of the lock key, but it doesn't. Again, no biggie, but what's the point of that option?

i'll have to play with mine when the wife gets home..........i'm with ya, why the option!

unless maybe you just hit "back" after making ur change. i think u have to hit the "menu select" button after making changes for those changes to take effect.

Mine works the same way, I thought the same but I ended up with the lights only option and it never honks no matter how many times you press it.
