How did that get in there?

So I was installing my Elite catch can today, and when I was cleaning up I decided to check my CAI. In the bottom I find a cigarette butt, and I don't smoke. I have to assume it got suck in the jre scoop. Is this possible?
If so, what have you found in your air box?

yea, it's possible. had a recall on my 07 altima right after i bought it because the filter they used could catch fire if one got sucked up there while burning. I think 2 vehicle fires occurred because of it. they replaced the filter and put some kind of screen in it to keep large debris from reaching the filter.

Maybe your Camaro likes to take a drag from time to time.

Yep... They can get sucked into the intake even without the scoop. I found one in my '11 v6 Camaro's airbox once.

You'd be surprised at what a lowered Camaro with a scoop on it pics up....be thankful you don't live in Rattlesnake Country.

I've found a bee and a dragon fly in my air box. Thinking about screening the scoop inlet.

I have found about 5 cigarette butts under the belly pan and other places. They were cigarettes that I had never heard of, my wife being Canadian said that they came from there cause she recognized the names of them.
