BG is a great location with everything close. The city caters to groups like this as they realize how much $$ it brings to their local economy. The one common complaint was the heat in July. The scenery is so beautiful in that part of the country I think a fall fest would be fantastic. The tail of the dragon in the fall must be spectacular.

I agree 100%. I really think the fest should be moved to fall, but spring would be a close second.

I brought my 6 and 7 year old kids to this years camaro fest and it was just too hot to stay outside for more than a few hours at a time.

Otherwise the location is perfect (although I am biased since I live < 4hr away). We really liked visiting local caves and the Corvette Museum while we were there.

If we have it in the fall, won't they be in school?

No other location will be as good as BG. Besides, finding a place to have the fest is half the battle.

We start school in July (25th this year). A mid October would be nice they have 2 weeks fall break then.

Problem with fall or spring breaks is schools take them at al different times. My theory always was my kids wouldn't suffer from a few days of missed school. Sometimes they would send work or let them make it up on return. Family time is also important. Both parents had college degrees & fully capable of helping them learn. I know schools these days can be sticklers though.

I love BG. I didn't make it to SGMP. Atlanta Dragway is a great track & Road Atlanta is in the same vicinity. I really don't care as much about the location as I do about the weather. Believe it or not, BG was considerably cooler this year compared to two years ago. I think Fall would be AWESOME somewhere...

Somewhere west of the Mississippi, give the other half of the country a chance to participate.

LSFest has grown every year since its conception. Its in Bowling Green every year at about the same time. Its now just gotten big enough for a west fest. Maybe Camarofest will become big enough one day to do the same. Bouncing a meet around each year is equally aggrevating as it is nice. To me its not worth the effort compared to a fixed location.

Holding it at the same place and the same time of year (more or less) gives people a chance to get familiar with the surroundings. More hotels can be worked to get deals, too. While the host hotel may only want to do 25% of their rooms at FEST rates, another hotel might be willing to offer the same sorts of discounts.

There are pros and cons for holding it in Bowling Green every year.
Bowling green is an awesome place where everything can be held in a fairly tightly grouped area. Drag racing/ car show/ autocross all on the same grounds and road course very close by. Plenty of hotels. The city is great at hosing events like this. The Corvette Factory and museum also add car related activities available that you won't get anywhere else.

Having it in Bowling Green every year makes it less of a "must attend" event to me. If I don't go this year I can always go next year. Don't get me wrong I love BG and want to go many more times. There are however some other places and tracks I want to visit with my car and most years I will only be able to make one big road trip. That means it will be a choice between going back to BG or visiting some bucket list track/place.

I would prefer we do every other year in BG with the between years rotating around to different venues. That would bring some different attendees as well as keeping BG from getting stale.

There are pros and cons either way. Its best overall to do it in one spot. Its like Daytona and Sturgis bike week. Veey successful.

We had a great time and met some wonderful people. The Vendors were great, BG is a travel for us but it was worth the miles. Sometimes its good to have it in the same place a couple of years in a row you know your way around and there are always new people. We'll wait and see what the outcome is.
