Broken ZL1 Axle
I broke a ZL1 axle last Sunday and thought it might be useful for some to know the circumstances. With the help of some of they guys on the forum, I was able to get the car to launch hard by setting the LNC2000 to 4200 RPM and 15* retard when the clutch is pressed. That made the 335/30-18 Hoosier DRs spin like crazy, so the next upgrade was a pair of M&H 10.5/28-18 slicks, which I was running at 18#. It launched exactly as I hoped, but the axle snapped at about 20' out. Thanks to Billy at GForce, I'll have a new set of Outlaw axles delivered this week so I can still make Camaro Fest. Hope this is helpful to someone.

2.0 on the DRs. First run on slicks broke the axle.

Wow that sucks!! But glad you have another set coming your way. My buddies Cobra ran the Hoosier's and loved them because they hooked so well with his 875rwhp.. TH400 and straight axle. Wheels up too!!

Apparently, autos love DRs but they are no bueno for sticks.
