DaSilva Motorsports, Champion Motors or SPi

Well, I would like to do a Cam Package (Full Package not just the cam) over the winter in the Camaro 1LE. I will be adding Texas Speed 2" Headers and a 3" ZL1 Catback from Stainless Works as well but trying to get opinions on where to go... these seem to be the 3 best shops for LS motors within 150KM of my home.

Does anyone have any horror or success stories with these shops, ive spoken to Manny at DaSilva and seen some of their work and it seems like a good place but ive also had some people tell me to stay away from them.

Thanks,

Personal experience with SPI getting pretty much exactly what you are considering. 480rwhp/440tq. sounds amazing and runs the same. Alain, Drew and crew are top notch and a pleasure to deal with.

SPi.,

No other shop had their own inhouse 5th Gen Camaro... thats why I chose them.

They take their time, they do it right, they work with you to get you what you want and nothing you don't.

Perhaps a better question would be, go down - check it out.

Almost ALL the C5's in the Canada Section from Ontario that have any 'modifications' have gone through SPi... why would you go anywhere else -

I mean look at their track cars, Allanski, DoubleChubby...

Take a look at mine, or Calbers.

or black 67's

or bob's turbo.

I know i'm leaving out a lot of names but on a personal touch.

I was the first SPi customer from Camaro5. (that i know of)
I have been going back ever since.

Truthfully
- I doub't you will hear of any 'bad press' - on these forums
Everyone I know on the boards loves the guys down there...

Oh, and if you're asking about Cam Packages.

- SPI. Hands Down. I did what you did, full cam and supporting mods, right down to a custom grind. They held my hand, explained the pros and cons, and were able to work with me to provide the exact result i was looking for.

This is my monster, built by SPi..
I'm sure many on the board can attest to the quality that SPi provides.

BUT I must cautioun you
Don't take our words for it, get in your car and DRIVE down and TALK TO THEM
in PERSON

Cheers!

SPI

Thanks for the replies and references guys We do try really hard to make sure we are meeting expectations. As hard as we try and as badass as all the cars are that we are putting out, we could never do it without the awesome customer base that we have. We are very lucky to be surrounded by enthusiastic and passionate people that love the hobby, the sport, and their cars.

I have never strived to be the cheapest speed shop around.....I do however, want to be the best. BOZZ1LE, I encourage you to stop by the shop, call us, or talk to our customers. Above that, we will be hosting our third track rental of the season near the end of the month, and that is probably the best opportunity to see a variety of cars with a variety of mods and experience with SPI. It is always a good time, and our customer's put on a good show.

Again, thanks for the props guys, we will update the details on our next track day soon.

Drew

I'm a customer of SPi as well as Champion Motors, and heard of great success stories about DaSilva Motorsports too.

You cant go wrong with either of these shops.

Just got back from SPi, for reference, there were at least 5 Camaro5 members cars there having some good stuff done.

I believe Alain told me Aug. 22 is the tentative track day, still to be confirmed.

AGP in Newmarket are top notch guys. I had another shop do some work on my car and it was slower. After talking to a few guys at a car show I called AGP. They went out with me and data logged the car. The tune was a mess...and if a trans tune just meant turming up the line pressure then I guess I had it. I had them retune it and add longtubes. It's ran great for 2 years. Goes in Mon for a heads and cam package.
