Placed My Order Saturday (3/28/2009) - Phoenix, AZ
I finally did it! I placed my order the other day for the following car
Rally Yellow 2LT Automatic Transmission Black Rally Stripes Black Leather Interior RS Appearance Package Power Sunroof Catback Exhaust Performance Air Intake with everything together it looks like it is gonna come to just over $35k (including tax, title, license). My dealer told me he expects a July/August build date based on the amount of orders GM has been pulling so far. Just in case there is anyone from AZ in here, I recommend Courtest Chevrolet. Dave Blankinship has been fantastic and they are not charging any sort of dealer premiums. In fact my $500 is even going towards the price of the car, not over invoice like many dealers are doing. Courtesy will sell it to you exactly at MSRP. They will also be hosting a Camaro reveal event on Friday May 8th where they will actually have production models on hand to look at. Now hopefully GM can stay afloat long enough to get us all our cars!! |

35K for a V6 now its fully loaded i get that but why no V8, not dogging you for your decision just curious. I ordered a fully loaded 2SS/RS and i am just under 40k myself.

What do you mean by fully loaded for your 2SS/RS? I built a 2SS/RS on the official Chevy site and if I were to get all the stuff I am getting on my 2LT it would be more in the ballpark of $44k ($38k + $1500 for CBE and intake + $4k for tax, title, and license). My current build is $31,335 + $1550 for CBE and intake + $3288 for tax, title, and license. I have the full break down of what is currently on my order and everything is exactly at MSRP. Now I can change the order up until whenever GM pulls the order for production but I don't think there is anything I am going to end up changing. I ordered 2ss/rs, sunroof, hurst and matching engine cover and stripes, no catback or intake. They weren't an official option at time of my order and I would prefer aftermarket anyway. There is typically a lot of mark up in dealer installed accessories I probably shouldn't even of ordered engine cover I'm sure I can get it cheaper later but oh well. I'm price locked in at 38400, does not include tax,tag title, but that won't push me much past 40k. Like I said not doggin you I can appreciate the need for cheaper insurance been there done that. Just at first glance seemed you might have been charged a little over msrp as others stated. Just curious how your driving record is and did you price it both ways for insurance purposes, personally nothing wrong with a v6 but if I'm gonna get in the neighborhood of spending 35k, insurance or not I would opt for the v8 if at all possible. But if your happy thats all that matters and congratulations on the order.

I will say that these v6 make the former generation v6's look down right pitiful. I mean 300+ HP decent gas economy. I would definately rather own a 5th gen v6 than 4th or 3rd.

I think you made a wise decision myself. You're one of the youngest on here that is finally making some sense. |
