2nd time to the track... Better but not good

So I posted last month my times for my first time to the dragstrip. I took everyone's advice and made some changes. All I was concerned with last night was 60 ft times. My first time out I couldn't get better than 2.2-2.3. So last night I dropped the tire pressure to 20lbs and did longer burnouts and was able to cut consistent 2.0 60fts. So it's better but not where I think I should be. Anyone have anymore advice for me to get sub 2.0 60? Tires are 315 DR's and M6 trans. 3.91 gears. (20 inch rims) thanks

No wheel hop. I was getting the 2.0 spinning. When it bogged I was 2.1-2.3.

Ride that clutch out my friend. With 20's it's the only way you will do it. So hopefully you have a beefy clutch.

I would honestly recommend dropping the 20's and getting a set of 18's with radials.

All truth here. Slipping is an art and takes some time to get it down. Seat time is your friend.

What RPM are you leaving at? I just got DRs on 18s and it took me 6 passes before I figured out what I was doing wrong! My car was bogging or I was letting off the clutch to fast, what worked on my last 2 passes was 5k rpms and a quick slip of the clutch, I ran 1.80 60ft but missed a gear and blew the run!!! Tried it agian and pulled 1.87... Lucky you have 3.91s so you may only need 4000-4500 to do this.

5k!! No way I could do that. I was leaving closer to 2500 - 3000. From the responses it seems I need to ride the clutch more. Even better get smaller rims and more tire. I'm going back this Friday so I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, a 5k launch will destroy your stock clutch quick. I'd say at most 3500. But play around, blufin nailed it. Just takes seat time.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

I have a RPS twin carbon clutch. The clutch is great and can take the abuse but launching at 5k seems crazy when I'm spinning at 3k

I was able to cut a 1.93 on the stock Pirelli's (28 psi) launching at 2k and quickly slipping the clutch as the loud pedal got closer to the floor.

What Dr's are you using?

With those DR's you should be getting 1.6-1.7's all day long.

i can cut 1.8 on the stock tire . almost every time. took lots of practice to learn what the car wants tho. dont just keep tryin the same thing over and over try different stuff. but most likely uneed to slip a lil more and less gas then start working ur way up on the gas . is the track known for having good prep. That could be ur problem.
