Camaros cost more but outsell the Mustang?

I was a little suprised to see that since the Gen 5 Camaro went on sale, it's been outselling the Mustang. Not by a huge margin but when you factor in the higher cost...man that's gotta burn the Ford crowd.

base for base the camaro is a nicer car. got suck with a brand new one a few months ago for a rental, very depressing. interior is un comfortable (my knee road the center console) . audio system blows and the gauges where the only thing i could find that where kinda cool, but the lack of digital display as well irritated me by the end of the week as the numbers are scrunched together.but the locking center console was cool.

Sorry priced a stang ...they cost more with optional everything to try to make them perform and look cool, especialy if you want louver and non functional scoops, braking ability, track handling, heated seats, nice stereo etc etc try over 45k for a build of a 5.0

I tend to agree. in fact, part of the reason I bought a camaro was because when I priced it vs the charger, and the mustang it was the best price.

much more movement on mustang pricing as well. My 13 GT, i got $3000 off and the 13's hadn't even been out a month. The camaros, have few to no rebates up until recently and there is minimal price movement on the sticker. Quite amazing how well the sales stay with the camaro but remember, we didn't have one for 8 years.

The Camaro is a 4 year old platform/design. The Mustang is closer to 10 years old. That such an aged platform is still selling very close to as many cars (90-95%), would support the thesis that costing several thousand more than your competition hurts sales. Economic common sense does as well.

I think the camaro appeals as more of a "family friendly" muscle car, but both are strong sellers.

I hate to say it but I was raised in a family that didn't care much for ford products, I had cousins that owned them and they always seemed cheep and hollow sounding and they seemed like poor peoples vehicles. LOL while I know ford makes some nice stuff I just can't get over the stigma that I was raised with. I just can't bring myself to entertaining the thought of owning one...LOL. I know a decade ago I was really down on GM, but even then I couldn't cross the ford line. No Rustang for me. thank goodness GM brought the Camaro back to Life!

if i wanted a family car, i wouldn't buy a camaro, more than likely i would buy either a charger srt, or a taurus sho. The way gas prices are going up, maybe a hybrid, lol.
