Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tire Review

Here's what I have:

20x9 front wheels with 275/40-20
20x10 rear wheels with 305/35-20

I just have to go ahead and start off by giving a big to these tires. I'm impressed. They were installed on a rainy day about a month ago. I drove on them for about a week before getting into them a little. These tires like to be warm, I will say that.

Straightline grip - they need to be spun around for a few seconds to get warm, but after they are warm, they are pretty grippy for a street tire on a car that has 500+ rwhp.

Cornering - I feel this is actually where these tires shine. Although they need to be really warm for their straightline grip, cornering is another story. I haven't been on another street tire that's quite as good - I have yet to autox with them, but just on quick cornering they are very nimble. Going around an off-ramp I was able to hit 60 and hold it - keep in mind that lowering springs and a strut brace are my only suspension mods.

Normal Driving - I feel like these tires track with grooves in the road a little too much, but that could be due to them being wider than other tires I've driven on. Little to no road noise.

(BONUS) Aesthetics - The wide tread blocks on the outer edges give a very aggressive look.

Overall, I would give these tires 5/5 stars. They have great treadwear, great grip, low noise, and a great price. What's not to love.

I wondered how those would stand up to say a Michelin PSS. Thanks for the review.

I actually had Michelin PSS 285/35 on the rear of my car before and although I didn't have them on the front (had general g-max), I would say that these street comps instill a lot more confidence in my cornering than the PSS did.
