Sure they (Chevy) can: Curtail his allotment of high-end cars.

He'll be a used car only dealer soon enough.

I think a newly ordered 2014 is in order for this debacle...

I agree 100% It's very Busch league of GM. There is no question that they are aware of this situation. I'm actually really turned off to Chevrolet now. For the 2 years that I had a Ford Mustang, Ford was overly concerned with my happiness. I almost feel like trading in my ZL1 for a Shelby. If I didn't take a big hit, I might actually do so.

They can't force the dealer to do anything, but they can put pressure on the dealer to give the Hoopers a new 2013 or 2014. At minimum, Chevrolet could make up the difference. GM should also offer to have the ZL1 delivered to the Hoopers at the Canadian plant and give them a tour. This would be good business, especially considering that he has other Chevy vehicles and has been a loyal and enthusiastic customer for years.

I guess there is a reason GM needed a bailout.

Don't go attacking me now. GM is a company not a living thing. I won't blindly follow a company like a lemming. I am only loyal to companies that go above and beyond.

I was waiting for this. This is good business and good karma. Not that their offer was just for publicity, but the money they will make in "good will" will be exponentially more than this awesome gesture.

I was hoping another SMART Chevy dealer would offer Hooper to make up the difference between the $44k insurance settlement and a new ZL1. For $10k or so it would be unbelievable marketing.

Good job, Pfadt.

Bullshit. GM bought me a brand new motor when a local dealer blew it up then tried to cover it up.

I am quite sure Pfadt made this offer for all the right reasons and in true sincerity. That being said, they just made a future customer out of me. Way to go guys![
